LINK Do the left field lunatics, coon corner, bullpen bullies still exist? Oh here’s some pics for you.
Not sure why they aren’t working

I'm not sure, but I have a lot of fond memories if the old box.
I started going to LSU baseball games in 1985 and attended a lot of great games and regionals at the old box.

That giant baseball to capture the spirit of the Box was useless.

Same here on all counts.

I miss the old Box a lot. It was cozier, had a homier feel than the current park. You were right on top of the action.

I loved the Old Box. I remember seeing games there in the 70s and the place had wooden, splintery bleachers. It was quaint, but attractive in a homey, nostalgic way.

I remember playing State and the box was so packed they allowed fans to sit in foul territory in LF and RF. I loved the old Box!

Several members of the groups are still attending games but are no longer organized. I was a member of the "Two Out Rally" crew in the third base bleachers at the old Box and about ten members still go to games at the new Box. When the new Box was opened, banners were banned from the seating areas and the groups slowly started to become extinct. I miss those days when the fans were not so involved with their cell phones and really got into the games. I know, I'm old.

Right field/ first base line here. The metal bleachers and the lsu hot ladies that used too walk up them

I spent plenty of time watching weekend series at the old box. Great memories especially my senior year of high school after that I joined the military and when I returned the old box was gone. Etears

I was, too! When seat reassignments for the new Box came around, I had a chance to snag a seat in the new gold seats. I just had to jump on it.

Everyone disagrees with me but I will always believe that “The Box” should have been renovated. Could have been done over several seasons. One off season refurbish or tear down and rebuild the grand stand one year the the next rip out all bleachers and build a permanent structure with chair back seats the next. The box was tore down for 2 reasons. Skip wanted a new stadium for his legacy and others wanted the land it sat on

I was there. They set a record that weekend and Will Clark hit a ball that never came down.

There was a regional during the early 90's where a couple of young men, maybe they were students, I'm not sure, but they had Bill Franques (PA announcer)to page a fictional person by the name of "Frank Staminga" Bill called the name over the PA several times while those in the grandstand around me laughed loudly while passing along what a "staminga" was. There were many good times in the old box.

I sat in that section as a kid, ole Leroy . Y’all used to give the opposing bullpen catcher hell. I remember the smoke from the grill right behind our bleachers coming over with the wind. People in our section would bring collapsible ice chests and pour beers in the stands.

The train tracks were RIGHT next to the stadium. LSU used to fly a flag for every SEC team in left field. Almost every bleacher section had a nickname and a banner hanging. The homerun counter in the gorilla ball days.

The Old Alex Box was a great ballpark. Intimate, charming, a little rough around the edges, and when the crowd was in it there was no better place to watch baseball.

Lots of style and character, and very intimidating. None of which the new stadium has. I've been to funerals that had more atmosphere.

I miss the old box. It had a certain kind of mystique about it and definitely was intimidating for opposing teams. The new box is an empty, corporate, shell.

It's like it was designed specifically to accommodate corporate advertising and not for fan experience.

I liked the old Box vs. new Box. Wish they would have renovated it as well.
