Hell, LSU kicked Mathieu off the team (yes, he left them no choice), and he reps LSU all the time and comes to campus every chance he gets.

Tebow would never throw Florida under the bus or threaten them to not use his likeness over a number.
I don't believe Burrow would either. I am really disappointed in Daniels. He could feel one way, but to do this is wild to me. Especially after LSU helped him win a Heisman. I'll never be a big retire numbers person.
I find it somewhat selfish to not want others to wear your number. It's one thing if the school decides it, but to throw out lawyer letters over it is wild to me. After all LSU did to help Daniels and he wants to be removed from them over a number. Wow.
Florida State did not retire Winston's number, but they retired his jersey.
"Florida State University retired Jameis Winston's No. 5 jersey, not his number. FSU stopped retiring actual player numbers in 1997 and transitioned to retiring jerseys. His jersey was officially retired during a ceremony on November 18, 2023."
I doubt seriously Winston would care if someone wore his number at FSU. In fact if it helped get an elite recruit I'm sure he would be okay with it. I would rather a player care more about the school than their number.

I believe that JD’s mom is to blame here. JD is a humble kid and introverted, it’s not in his nature to put himself out here like this. He’s getting bad advice/brand management

Tebow is arguably the greatest player in CFB history. Win 2 titles, a Heisman, and a ton of other accolades.
