I think it’s clear the recent success of the football teams has brought back some of the rejects of the past. I figured by now everybody was past this dumb thread and could see why this was a good thing.

As a LSU fan, we should do whatever is in the best interest of our cherished mascot, Mike the Tiger. I do not feel it diminishes in anyway the game day experience by having him remain in his million dollar habitat. In fact, I would argue it improves it as more fans are able to get a close view of him and photograph him. And this view is coming from a person who is a conservative and hunts.

And most previous Mikes really didn’t like the student mascot Mike, either. If he got close to the cage, Mike let him hear about it!

Most rational and logical thinking adults feel a cat the size of Mike doesn’t belong in something that small. Nothing to do with being liberal or conservative.

Like pet carriers that carry millions of cats cross country on airplanes, or vehicles to and from Vet offices each day???

It's awesome but we all know that cat was stressed out

I'm stressed out for 8 hours a day 5 days a week 52 weeks a year. I live in a house that costs 1/8 of what Mike's habbitat costs (I don't even have pool). Don't have personal chefs, he has better health care than I have. Mike has to work for an hour, 5 or 6 times a year.

Put me in that fricking cage.

It's impressive how you can be so wrong and so confident. Predator or not, when you have that many beings making that much noise at you while you're stuck in a tiny box, you're going to be stressed. How can you not see that?

While the roar in the video is great, it's pretty clear that Mike does not want to be there. That roar is pure "stay away from me or I'll frick you up." You know, like you do when you're at the gas station at night and some homeless dude tries to ask you for money.

It’s a flipping tiger. Who cares about its stress level? He’d recover just fine in his private palace eating hundreds of pounds of comfort food.

False... the owner who donated Mike VI asked that they don’t put him in the cage and the precedence was set.

You know that label on bleach that says “do not drink”? Yeah, that doesn’t apply to you. You should just go on a drink it. It is delicious.

The vets who are in charge of his care. True fans that like the well-being of our unique and cool live mascot. People interested in keeping our sanctuary status so that we can have that unique and cool live mascot. Most rational adults with even a hint of empathy. It's ridiculous that you claim to love this mascot and then you say shite like this.

In the 90s the only thing required to make mike the tiger roar was seeing mike the mascot. That shite was funny.

Weird flex.

Calm down. Nobody is saying we should Mike into a pit to fight a bear.

You have put every pet you ever owned through some stress because it convenienced YOU.

Folks love to see Mike in the stadium for games. It seems like a way could be worked out to do that safely from a distance -- beside in some old circus wagon.

Mike needs to be on the field. Maybe let him run free with an electronic collar and steer him toward the opponents sideline.

Amazing how many complete idiots we have in this fanbase. Mike used to literally injure himself in the cage because he was so freaked out. Having him on the field was cool, but we have a higher duty to take good care of him.
