It’s frustrating to lose to team we shouldn’t, but in reality it’s going to work itself out. Either they’ll fix the kinks, adjust and get better, or this is the team we have. Regardless we won’t know for another month or so. It’s going to be okay, I think.

It’s the decision making by PM that is concerning. Arnold not playing, not pitching fontenot and playing Helmers cost us the game. He literally could have gotten one of those things right and we would’ve won the game. That’s why people are pissed.

The moves he made yesterday and opening weekend moves. He wouldn’t make those moves in SEC play. He’s trying to find out what he has in young players while also getting his veterans some work.

He threw Fontenot yesterday in a 6-1 game to make sure he was able to get work this weekend.

People have bitched about him throwing players under the bus for years. He gives a freshman a longer leash and people freak out.

We have to figure SS and 3B out. The only way to do that is to get guys reps there. I thought he should have let Arnold start game 2 at SS, but I understand that he probably decided before Friday that Bianco was going to get the start at SS in game 2.

Could you imagine if LSU would have lost by more than a run to AF? Holy frick, these broken hearts would blow their brains out

Do you know of many coaches who get fired the year after they play in the CWS final?

How many trips to Omaha have you seen lately? I am on record as saying I think this team is going to be really good. But this weekend was another one of those that we have had far too many of in the last few years. No hitting, or no timely hitting for sure....pitching great at times, then completely melting down. And a disappointing loss. We are on a pretty long run of this. So if fans get a little nervous I can definitely understand.

The SEC is going to be hell this year.

Our dumbass fans do this every year. It's like clockwork. Win some meaningless games and they freak out claiming we’re the greatest and Pual needs to be given an extension. Then we don’t make it to Omaha 7 out of 10 times since 2010 and they get say “funny game” and that we should still feel lucky to have Paul.

#1 Florida was killing it last year before Covid, won the title 3 years ago, and has been legit top 3 the past decade. We have not been.

LSU was the team that played Florida in that championship if you recall. Vandy had more talent than LSU last year and only had one less loss when the season was cut short. Killing it in the beginning of the year is great, but you don’t know how it would have carried on in conference. If they’ve been a legit top 3 the past decade then where are all the championships to show for it? By the way, I agree. Florida has been top three. That doesn’t always equal Omaha or a championship, though

Same excuses. CPM is middle of the road the last 3-5 years.
This is LSU baseball.
He had tons of resources and a history that very few, if any, actually can tout.
Yes, he won a title and took us to another but the last several years ain't up to LSU standards. First part of Pauls' tenure -- he did really good.
How long will we allow him to make the same excuses?

I watched about 15 innings of the games and we just can't hit. Sure we have a couple guys but this lineup will get crushed by SEC pitching.

We have players but utilization and development of pitchers has been very suspect the last several years.

Hitting has been beyond bad the last several years.

Is LSU terrible? No.
But, we haven't been close to the LSU brand level of years past for several years now. Air Force had several pitchers who looked like Nolan Ryan against us

Who did they play? UF also had 3 first round draft picks in their starting rotation at one time and went 2 and Q in Omaha.

This includes a CWS final. SEC and tournament champs, 14, 12, and 2nd national rankings. What’s your definition of middle of the road?

Funny you mention this since they had one guy who threw 97 and the first reliever who hit 94. That guy had 6K’s on mostly fastballs that were off the plate. I’m not saying the hitters shouldn’t have adjusted, but let’s not act like the guys didn’t have SEC caliber arms.

There are only 3 teams in college baseball that have been to Omaha more than 3 times in the last 10 years.

Of the only three teams to hold that distinction, we were top 3. Are you comparing LSU to the rest of college baseball or to LSU baseball of the 90’s?
