The coaches are not playing on the field…..the players have to pick up on those things……when a linemen whiffs on a block, that’s not on coaching….unless they weren’t coached on how to use leverage……

Misfires for recruits are on the coaches. Players continuing to make the same mistakes and failing to progress over a season are on the coaches.

The offense is bad overall from design to oc to the line to the qb. The receivers aren't very good either. Barion brown was a bust.

I love zavion Thomas and Anderson but they aren't enough for the sec. They are very similar also. Zavion has had to play outside cause you really don't have any outside sec elite receivers.

So how would you explain our inability to run the ball last year?

They fricking stunk last yr run blocking with 4 guys who were drafted. Scheme my arse, these guys were getting pancaked by Southeastern lineman.

The OL, and the WRs are the worst I have ever seen. The WRs can't get open at all. They can't block. They can't catch. The play calling tonight was atrocious. I would let Baker call plays on offense. His defense has won games by keeping the score low. The offense can't do anything.

It’s definitely the coaching but lol at the protections comment. They can’t even block a 3 man rush! Hell ole Miss dropped 8 like 80 percent of the time.

This same O-Line will be dominant under Kiffin and it wont be due to the O-Line coach
You're totally full of shite and most likely drunk & high. OL Coach and OL Personnel are hot garbage trash. SWAC level bad, not LSU/SEC caliber.

but i think in time it will be proven that Davis is not the problem. I will maintain he is a good coach.

Nah

I think the scheme - particularly the running game/ running tendencies - is a huge issue.

But a bigger issue is the blocking is laughably bad. And that’s on Davis. Hell, when have we been able to really run the ball with an RB since he’s been here? Even in ‘21 we were bad outside that one game TDP went nuclear.

Now we can’t run or pass block. It’s ridiculous.

Multiple times on the broad cast they showed open players that MVB decided not to throw to. I don’t think Atkins is an issue.

Mvb supporters will never admit that he is just a bad qb,

can't see field, can't read defense, can't feel or see pressure coming, under throws, throws behind, can't audible out of play,
SAD thing is he seems like a really nice person

I cannot remember a worse OL at LSU.

He’s coached OL a long time, so that means some of the others you liked were his too.

LSU’s 2023 offensive line was one of three finalists for the Joe Moore Award, which is presented to the top offensive line in college football.

In 2024, the Tigers led the SEC in sacks allowed, giving up only 15 in 13 games.

LSU needs a fresh start but that’s a healthy perspective. I’m sure this board will love it.

You are so right about this. I should have included basic blocking techniques in my earlier comment!

I’m generally with you although he is only in his second year and his first with this offense. He could be a starter in his 4th or 5th year but he’s being thrust into a bad situation. But he’s doing all the things you pointed out.

Davis is an overpaid asshat. What was the worst part of LSU's team this year? The offensive line. I wish someone in the know would step up and explain why this man was not fired.

The thing that bothers me most about Davis is that, last season, LSU had one of the most experienced offensive lines in program history, yet it couldn’t run the ball. Why did BK think that Davis would be able to take an inexperienced group and produce better results?

Davis should retire from coaching. He's awful.
