Just remember 2006(7 draft picks, all his recruits) and miles found a way to lose at auburn that year, Saban wins MNC if he's at LSU
Auburn was a top 10 team that year.

I don't even think he's that great of a recruiter, at this point LSU is a brand that sells itself, we will get elite talent(most from LA) despite what moron is HC

The head to head matchups prove Miles can't hold his jock.
Outside of the BCS CG, the head to head is even. All the games have been close and the higher ranked team won.
So your post is also dumb

mauck was supposed to be our QB in 2004 but he left early. we didn't have the depth yet to truly suffer that kind of loss
to fall back on the old stand-by...well whose fault is that?

If you don't like the guy, fine, but you are just making stuff up and clearly don't know anything about recruiting.

So you were being sarcastic when you said les has no excuses for lack of QB depth?

You really don't think miles helped turn that program around? Kind of ridiculous and you have a very limited knowledge if you don't think he did.
1995 || 4-8 || Bob Simmons
1996 || 5-6 || Bob Simmons
1997 || 8-4 || Bob Simmons
1998 || 5-6 || Bob Simmons
1999 || 5-6 || Bob Simmons
2000 || 3-8 || Bob Simmons
2001 || 4-7 || Les Miles
2002 || 8-5 || Les Miles
2003 || 9-4 || Les Miles
2004 || 7-5 || Les Miles
Simmons had 1 winning season in 6 seasons, and Miles had 3 winning seasons in 4 seasons. I'd say that's a fricking turnaround.

uh, we had flynn and JR as RS freshman in 2004. saban did his job at recruiting QBs

he doesn't
saban was building the program in 2004 still
les inherited an absolutely stocked program without depth issues at QB. there was no excuse to have no QBs for 4 years. none. it was a completely different situation in 2004, and by 2005 JR was ready

Revisionist history. RP gets booted with two scholarship years remaining. You don't think him leaving hindered the development of JJ and JL? Those guys had no one to learn from?!

I wasn't talking about LSU recruiting itself during the Dinardo years and prior, I'm talking about now that we are elite, if you don't think LSU sells itself then you're a fricking idiot
Also, whoever said Ryan Perriloux says hi, he's another example of Les' lack of discipline on his teams which is painfully obvious, TM7... And also to think Les started that drug dealer JJ for 4 years
what a moron
LSU would be the powerhouse that Bama is now if Nick would've stayed. FACT.

LSU is where it is today because of Nick, any denying of that is just delusional
bullshite. You make it sound like once a program becomes relevant that the coach at that time deserves the credit for all future success. It has been 8 years since Saban left. Miles has been successful with his own recruits, his own players, his own coaches and his own systems and his own style.

. Miami fielded possibly the most talented team of all time 10 years ago and have numerous competitive advantages over UF and FSU, now they are a shell of their former self. You're delusional if you don't think that can happen to LSU.
Miami was nothing until the early 80s. They have terrible facilities. The reason they are unable to compete now is because the teams that are elite now and have much better facilities are getting recruits from Miami.
The SEC had an arm race in the 90s and early 2000s. The facilities are better which entices recruits. The rear of the cfb world is trying to catch up.

Saban built LSU into a powerhouse. Miles didn't. Miles has done a great job sustaining what Saban built.
While i agree that we wouldnt be where we are if not for Saban, would it be true that Bear Bryant made Alabama what it is (prestige wise), and Saban benefits from that ? OF COURSE NOT !!!
Saban did a great job at LSU. Les is also doing a hell of a job...
or, Saban is just winning with the Bear's program

Saban did not build LSU. LSU built LSU. Saban helped LSU realize its potential by getting people to put up the money necessary for facility improvements.
Les Miles is a better LSU coach than Saban was an LSU coach
Saban has gotten better but his formula is still the same. Fire up the fan base and get money for facility improvements to bring in recruits.
He's a great coach but not God.
