Want to tell us just what the contingency plan is for the "meaningful" games ? Wanna bet there is NONE ???

If this would have been a SEC game, the game would have been played, even if it would have to be rescheduled.

I must say that although it was sad to not see a game, I had a quality bonding experience with fam and friends while waiting.

Have any of you bothered to think past your own self interests as to how that would even be possible?

Could you have potentially kept the officiating crew in town to officiate? Maybe, but even that would be doubtful. But did you even consider the MASSIVE undertaking it is to put on a sporting event for 90.000 people? the security needed? The parking attendants? The catering and food which would have to be schedule to show up AGAIN today. Ushers, security, etc.

It would have been 100% impossible to play this game in front of a crowd today or Monday after already trying on Saturday. Impossible.

This isn't REMOTELY like 2005 and the Rita Tennessee game as that game was moved days in advance which gave the university time to replan and did not already go through expendables which could not possibly be replaced in under a day.

In short, there is no such contingency plan in the history of history that could have enabled LSU to tell everyone, "Hey...come back tomorrow and we'll try again."

Think 9-11 here. That forced nationwide rescheduling...so when we played AU the last game, so did everyone else in the SEC that lost that 9-11 Saturday's game. The SEC Championship was pushed back a week to accommodate the SEC schedule extending a week. Without knowing the details, I'll assume it was probably a legalistically clusterfrick getting all those pieces moved even two months out.

But LSU needs to be chastised because they didn't have a contingency in place for an event that has not happened in Tiger stadium since WWI.

Well...good news is that LSU fans are still miserable assholes, so there's something you can always count on!

Concession sales probably weren't that bad, you had people essentially stuck in the stadium for a few hours, so I'm sure there was plenty purchased

Concessions were slammed. They might have made more than expected

Tailgate atmosphere was enough not to ask for a refund. I don't expect one anyway.

How in the hell could they manage their budget that way?
The "Caveat Emptor" knife cuts both ways. Weather-related refunds are a cost of doing business in outdoor venues. Just because the TAF is bigger than Joe Ticketholder doesn't mean they shouldn't hold themselves accountable.

A friend of mine runs the Zatarains portables and he said they made more $$ than they typically make on a non conference game. Also said he saw 6 fights.

concessions didn't lose any more they actually may have made more money than normal. People were in the stadium for 4 hours if they stayed till the end.

What's your contingency plan, asswipe? Because Alleva's worked out fine. His was to try to get the game in last night, and then to do what's best for the team by bowing to the desire of it's head coach. Miles did not want to play any later in the week than last night because HE felt it would put them at an even bigger competitive disadvantage than missing the game.

If this had been a key SEC game they would have worked it out. Geez, don't blame Alleva for this.

Well, maybe so, but in this case a product was sold and was not delivered. LSU should at least make a token gesture (partial refund, discount on something). With 90,000 buyers involved there are lawyers who might be interested.
