Recently there has been a lot of talk about a good Tennessee team being a good thing for LSU. This was brought on by their recent recruiting hauls for the 2021 class. Tennessee being good helps pull talent from Bama, Clemson, Florida, and UGA mainly. We do manage to pull some good recruits from this area but we would manage. Also they play in the East and face Bama every year. Would give both stronger competition.

What other programs becoming good again or be good for the first time help LSU in the long run? I would say Miami, FSU, South Carolina, and maybe North Carolina. Gotta be careful because we do pull kids from all over now.

If Tennessee and Florida State could get their shite together, it makes it light years easier on us to recruit. South Carolina becoming respectable again impacts Clemson more then anybody

Tennessee and FSU. A strong FSU hurts Florida.

FSU, South Carolina, and Tennessee for sure.

They don’t need to become world beaters but just bringing in yearly 9-3 talent would be great for LSU’s interests.

None of that matters. If we’re not good enough to kick everyone’s arse then we’re not champions. As you saw last year, get a good squad, and we roll right over everyone.

Personally I think a down USC helps us more tbh. It’s a lot harder to recruit Cali when they’re on top. Good football team, LA is attracting, and the weather is top shelf. Oh and you can smoke big doinks legally (and when they aren’t drug testing )

But just so you know hes right. If Tennessee starts pulling big talent away from the gumps and others, where do you think they set their sights?

Without a doubt Tennessee. Alabama needs a permanent opponent that can give them a challenging game every year like Florida gives us.

I don’t get that. It would be 2 more really tough competitors after some recruits we want. If they are competing and doing some good against AL, GA, FL, AU they are doing the same against us.

If that were to happen bama's permanent east opponent would magically become vandy or S Carolina.

The rambling wreck that was GA Tech.

Would be nice if they could keep some of that Atlanta talent home and out of Auburn, Athens, and Tuscaloosa

I agree w/TL above. Let Tennessee beat the gumps once or twice & without a vote, for "TV" reasons, the SEC goes to a rotating schedule to make it "fair" to "all".............

Tennessee to challenge Alabama, Georgia, and Florida
Fla St challenge Clemson and Florida
UNC to challenge Clemson
Michigan to challenge Ohio St
USC to challenge Oregon and Notre Dame
USCe could be a thorn in the sides of Clemson and Florida.
The biggest risk to LSU would probably be Florida State. They have recruited Louisiana well over the years.

Not sure if it helps but I would love to see Michigan or some other Big school step up and not have OSU just cake walk most years to the CFB Playoff
