re: Reece Davis and Pete Thamel personally address the LSU fans in their latest podcast

well,he can be all Mr. Rogers on his podcast all he wants to be. And,of course, he is entitled to his opinon. But Tuesday night he had that ridiculous Keith Olbermann type sneer/glare/smirk that "no way on Earth should LSU be in the playoff and its stupid to even consider it."
I really don't want to play the "____ hates LSU!" card, but if you go back to 2018 Gameday vs Alabama he was so defensive and supportive of the targeting call on Devin White to the point that even Herbstriet laughed at him. Davis needs to take off his Crimson glasses during these types of segments.

I honestly think UGA is borederline unbeatable this year. Too many teams have flaws that UGA just doesn't have.
UGA has flaws. Not sure anyone can do enough over a 60 minute game to take advantage enough to beat them, though.

David Pollack brought up the point that no one is really talking about.
LSU beat Georgia
Georgia beat Tennessee
Tennessee beat LSU
There is somewhat of a 3-way tie aspect to all of this.

Why play a season if a conference championship means nothing?

No, Davis needs the shite beat out of him.

You are 100% right. Bottom line is that the committee is going to put in who they feel is the better team. Whichever team it is, you can find reasoning to why they should be in. If the roles were reversed, we would be extremely pissed if we beat the shite out of Tennessee on their home field with our only loss being to the #1 team and we were left out.

1 of those losses being to a mediocre Florida state squad.

Look, Tennessee looks like one of the best four teams in America to me and they did blow us out (though our coaches made the worst decisions of the year).
But IF LSU were to win out, LSU deserves to be in. UGA and Tennessee should get in based on resumes too even if that happens. The winner of the Ohio State/Michigan game deserves to be in as well. These would be the teams with the best resumes.
Neither TCU or USC has a win over anyone with less than 3 losses. TCU has had a very good season, but does anyone think their records would look the same if they played LSU or Tennessee's schedule. LSU already has wins over 2 of the top 15 teams in the playoff ranking and lost to the #5 and #19 teams in the playoff ranking. LSU has looked inconsistent, but IF LSU were to win out (big IF), a win over #1 UGA in their backyard after beating Bama and Ole Miss convincingly would show that LSU deserves to be in the playoff. No one else's resume would compare.

LSU also has a second loss which most of you seem to not remember.

In that case the tie breaker is:
SEC Champion

In the first game with a new HC, expected the sloppiness. A SEC championship of the toughest CFB league in America far trumps that game.
You’re overthinking this, the committee isn’t leaving out the SEC champ and Reece risks his opinion being exposed as worthless to the viewers who follow this.

I wouldn't be surprised if the committee is not taking that game into account. That was a completely different LSU by this point.

Lol, every game will matter.

So where does LSU rank with a win over Fla state at this point?
Posted on 11/17/22 at 11:27 am to LSUGent
Rece must really have taken that Bama loss hard because he’s coming full guns blazing for LSU now. We could beat Georgia 50-7 and he would still say we don’t deserve a spot. I would pay money to see the look on his face when Kelly went for 2 and shattered his dreams.

This is what people who move goal posts to fit their narrative do. They are afraid of LSU being the first 2 loss team in the playoff.

TennerC got their shite pushed in when they were #1 and playing their best. LSU lost early in the season. Teams evolve. If lsu beats Georgia they will have evolved into a top 4 team while TennerC flamed out. You got to win your division.

They’d most likely still be 6th behind the undefeated teams and behind Tennessee due to head to head, but would definitely be in the playoffs if they beat UGA.

Cliff notes?
