Dude, I'm still frickin laughing at that one. Sad thing is the bunny has more sense than most people on this board. Maybe we should redshirt the bunny. No, better not. He could be a valuable weapon against UF.

Lets say hypothetically Shep doesn't play at all this year. Are you telling me its not a positive in our favor to keep our opposition thinking we might play him?

If he's definitely not going to play, then, yes, I'd agree that we shouldn't just come out and say it. But, Florida also knows that he isn't going to touch the ball for the first time ever in our game against them, so if he doesn't play against UGA, they won't prep for him anyway.

Personally, I think all of this sneaky stuff about players playing or being injured is way overblown in college football.

According to Dandy Don, this is what Miles said on his radio show last Wednesday about playing Russell Shepard:

"Matt wanted to know how many touches Russell Shepard would receive against Washington and the coach's reply was 10-12. Miles said Shepard would receive some snaps as a quarterback, some as a running back and some as a wide receiver."

Did anybody in the press ask him why Shepard didn't play after making a statement like that? If not, someone needs ask him.

I'm sure Miles wants to put Shepard in for the first time in a situation where he has a good chance to be successful and build his confidence. If that was not against Washington on the road, it has to be at home against Vandy this Saturday. Putting a true freshman in the lineup against Florida for the first time isn't a good idea. He needs to get some real game experience and soon if he is going to play this year. I'll be very surprised if we don't see him play against Vandy.

azbengal, good post
i think he plays at UW if we get up a few scores and the crowd noise quiets down...no use throwing him to the wolves
Also only 48 off plays didn't help his cause.
I agree he will get some snaps at home this sat.
it will be a much better setting

I think when Miles said that he didn't think he would be in a Dog fight with Washington

Despite all the excitement, hype, and labeled as the second coming, this kid was in High School this time last year. Miles and Crowton arent going to throw him into the fire when there are two more experienced QBs available.

(Lots of plays that flo-Rida hasn't had the chance to study)

Conservative play calling will :

1 Show every team how to KEEP the DEFENCE on the field. ( 3 and out = punt)

2 When its time to run these plays the O would have forgot what they have study .

3 Are found out that these plays they were saving didn't work any way!

Many of you say that Les doesn't do a good job utilizing all the weapons and getting the ball in the hands of his playmakers. This is just another example, except he couldn't even figure out when or how to get him on the field.

I love how things go great on offense Crowton gets all the credit. But anything that the rant disagrees on as to Coaching outlook it is all Les

I am pretty sure Les and Crowton alone or together could figure it out

Maybe they could try this. I had a hard time on expert on the playstation but when i put on easy, I racked up a ton of yards, I havent lost a game in 10 season. The funny thing is that i only run 2 plays!

If you know who has the controller , Could you past this on? Thanks

do you think the 48 plays we ran had anything to do with the defense not being able to get off the field ?

Here are you reasons, and by the way it's amazing that your brain cannot come up with these on your own. Use your head for something.

-There were not enough plays run to go around so RS could get his 10 -12 plays.
-We were almost losing on the road.
- Defense couldn't get off the damn field on 3rd down
- They do not want him to have failure early to affect his confidence, they are going to put him in with a big lead and/or when the offense has a head of steam and the defense is playing well

If you think we are waiting until Fla to see RS, then good god we have some dumb fans, the kid needs experience at the college level before we put him in against the #1 team in the nation.

The situation, down and distance, 'feel of the game' and opponent will have a lot to do with when he sees the field. RS will not be redshirted, and you should be caned for even suggesting such a dumb fricking move.

The same point in keeping the play calling conservative. We gotta go all out against UF if we're going to beat them. If we've got lots of plays that Florida hasn't had the chance to study - all the better. The Les they know about us before we play them the better.

I think it had more to do with the situation.

We were in a 17-13 game at halftime and only had 4 or 5 possessions. We never got deep into our gameplan offensively because we didn't really get our head above water until late in the 3rd quarter.
