If Bama fails on 4 and 31, they don’t get in even though they’re the same team as if they make the .01% play.

If my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle.

Every season comes down to a few big plays and who makes them. Bama made the play. Had they not, they would be out and UGA, OSU, or FSU would be in. But they DID make the play so they are in.

FSU struggled against both teams they played after their QB got hurt. They also played the 55th hardest schedule compared to Bama's 5th.

FSU getting in hurts the product because its a free pass for Michigan. The Michigan team reaction to seeing Bama get in is all the proof you need to know the committee made the right choice.

I feel bad for the FSU team but the fact is that they are not one of the top 4 teams without their QB.

The committee needs to just stop hiding behind the “best 4 teams” veil. What they did is group the “most deserving” I.e. conference champs - and ranked them 1-5. If they truly wanted the best 4 UGA would be in. Washington would be out. What they did was simply a cop out and path of least resistance

The eye test said Oregon was going to beat Washington. Not only that, Vegas thought so and the old adage of how hard it is to beat a team twice…it’s all bull$hit. FSU should be in

Yep. Just like it was a free pass for Bama when they played Ohio State’s 3rd string QB, right?

Bama struggled against a ton of teams even with their starting QB. They get a pass for it but FSU doesn’t?

The SOS argument is horseshite. Bama struggled against 6-6 USF, 7-5 Aggy, 4-8 Ark, 6-6 Aub.

Apples and Oranges. OSU played their conference championship game with the 3rd string guy against a better opponent than Louisville and routed them 59-0.

Had FSU beaten Louisville 59-0 they would be in. They didn't and got left out.

Ok but let’s not forget FSU would have their 2nd string QB back for the playoff with a month to prepare.

Bama required a miracle to beat Auburn. With their starting QB

They had to knock Jayden out to beat LSU.

They played three cupcakes and texas OOC, and lost to Texas at home by two scores.

frick Alabama.

That was their 3rd string freshman. They get a junior back for the bowl game. Plus their defense absolutely shut Louisville down. Why do we only care about their offense in a game with a QB that wouldn’t even be playing in the playoff?

They earned it.

Alabama did not.

This whole debate is honestly silly because we know they don't really care about eye test more than record. It's just for Bama that they do this shite.

The difference here is that Bama beat the number 1 team in the country in the final game and won the hardest league in the country.

Look I am not happy Bama is in the playoffs but the idea that they should let FSU in despite seeing 2 weeks in a row that they aren't very good is ridiculous. Most years FSU gets in by default. This year there were 7 undefeated or one loss teams that had a good argument. You don't leave out teams that can actually compete for a championship in favor of one that clearly can't.

They told 80+ student athletes that they didn’t think they were good enough to compete for a NC because one of their teammates got hurt even though they did everything put in front of them. All while telling them they think this other team is good enough to compete for a NC even though they did not do everything in front of them.

Maybe the SEC has an unwritten rule for one free mulligan loss

Exactly.

It was for ratings and Saban.

LSU will get fricked royally in the future as well. The committee decided that wins dont matter.
