I'm still trying to make sense of this.

When I started LSU, 1992, we opened football season with A&M (regularly I believe) and it was actually really fun. The guys who came in were ready to party and that’s just what we did.

My issue is we are behind the times on it when we were running fricking Times Square ads.

I’d think their signing 4 five star DL last cycle is reason for concern. They clearly have money we do not, and you can throw program history out of the window if the future rosters of each team are no longer determined by it. Like back when players chose where they wanted to play not who paid the most

Because it fricking sucks and is poisoning college sports which is something we all happen to very much enjoy.

Well how did A&M miss on Harold Perkins? Will Blackwell? Emory Jones?
Laterrence Welch? And other LSU Freshmen?

A&M offered all but didn’t get them. How can this be? LSU signed 15 high school players and A&M offered most of them.

I think the OP is insecure. LOL.

Because it makes it easier for other bigtime programs to get Louisiana recruits.

Since?

We don’t like it because others do it better. Pretty simple.

Alec rock
I have a hate for all things 8&4fit
Is it an obsession,No just a passionate hobby.
I also hate Florida and Auburn.
I hate Alabama fans more so then I hate Alabama. The fans that have never been to the game or grew up in BAMA, just the dick riding front runners. I have no issue with Cletus in Fort Payne yelling roll tide while driving around in his 1993 hounds tooth painted f250 and his "18" national championship banners outside the double wide he deserves it.

I don't feel like we as a state are as poor as we think.

Yes A&M & UT is loaded with oil money. USC too with tech and hollywood.

As far as the SEC landscape, does Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas have the oil money, plant industry, ports/maritime industry, personal injury attorneys that LSU has?
It doesn't seem like it, unless they have a a crazy big donor base that I'm not aware of? What kind of industry is in those states that produces rich donors?

I feel like they should be more worried than us, imo, if we are speaking strictly money and bidding wars.
Yes, we are behind A&M but I feel like we still strong 2nd tier in the SEC.

It cheapens what I thought of the college game, and my interest in it has really tumbled. I may have watched 1 game all last year, and I used to spend the whole Saturday watching not only LSU , but many other games.
Not one player had been recruited on NIL last year. You’re telling me you stopped watching football because Myles Brennan was on a Cane’s ad? Maybe you just had better things to do

I am not worried about a&m because they haven't won anything in recent history. What I am worried about in general for a lot of schools such as a&m with deep pocket books is that they can start buying championships (or at least teams that can compete for them) due to stealing some of the better athletes that would have never thought about attending their schools if it weren't for a large bag of cash.

LSU fans hate NIL because we don't have the money to bring in top classes in comparison to some of these other schools.

Let's just be real. That's the reason. In state Louisiana talent used to be the biggest advantage for this program, and for the last 20 years we've capitalized on that by securing most of the top 10 players in the state each year.

NIL removes that advantage.

If we had the money of Texas, Texas A&M, Alabama, etc, and brought in the highest rated class last year, no one would be complaining.
