Agreed and I think, now especially, that LSU fans are starting to embrace that and recognize that the national media anti-LSU bias is inevitable so embrace the villain role and focus on destroying everyone else's dreams. the media doesn't care about or like you so rally around LSU and become the Darth Vader and the Death Star.

It really is blatantly and egregiously hypocritical to the point of ridiculousness - the pure negligence in the degree of the double standard. WW has no choice but to embrace it as you say.
I mean as another poster in this thread pointed out, Pitino has arranged an orgy with hoes on a yacht for recruits, paid for abortions for a mistress and plowed a random gal in the backroom of a restaurant.........Golden is stalking co-eds and texting out dick picks in bulk, Duke is buying Zion's Mom a house, Roy Williams systematically for years set his players up with fake classes to keep them eligible - all of these things well known to everyone and do you see anything close to the viotrol aimed at them for things all worse than anything WW ever did?
The answer is no. And I could go on an on.

I think the reasons for the hate on Wade right now are multi-faceted.
1) LSU is an easy target after the hate the media threw at Kiffin for leaving a playoff team, for better pay, better facilities, and better opportunity. We do the same in our lives, so do the players, but the fact that he got OM to the playoffs and he leaves just really pissed the media off and it gave them a chance to sell clicks by making him a villain.
2) The same holds true with Wade, make him a villain and get clicks. He left NC State after 1 year....how dare he? Even though every player MBB change colleges every year.
3) They help make him a villain by exploiting his cheating scandal at LSU
4) They help make him villain by being outraged at the Euro league players coming to LSU and trying to get a G-league player to LSU.
It is all to create a villain to sell more clicks and views, but to do this you have to ignore the deeds of other coaches becasue they would look like hypocrites. Moscana is right in exposing the hypocrisy of Goodman.

Ha! Yes, I remember that - Vitale going on local radio here saying "I asked Rick point blank if he had anything to do with it and he swore to me he didn't and I believe him"!! As if a control freak like Pitino has anything going on with his program he knows nothing about.
I mean you can't fight that level of selective outrage and hypocrisy.
He said the same about Duke and Zion. "show me the proof, there's no proof" - so lame. He knew good and well as did everyone else.
The double standard and hypocrisy is so thick you can pour it on pancakes and so obvious it's should be embarrassing, but the narrative has been set and like lemmings the press and public follow along oblivious to how disingenuous they are being.

The 2 I can't stand the most are Pricky V and GAY Bilas. They were both screaming for Wade's scalp 5 years ago.
Bilas especially because he played at Duke, and is balls deep in their program and knows how they've recruited for decades, but just ignores it.
I've had multiple top HS assistant coaches (think Montverde,Huntington prep, Oak Hill type schools) tell me Duke is the worst, and they have the most pristine rep due to all the BS media coverage they get from figs like Bilas.

It's outrageous....EVERYBODY....and I mean EVERYBODY, including Dick and Bilas know Duke bought Zion's Mom a house she could not afford and got here a job she was unqualified for and overpaid for.
And they ALL act like it's all o.k. and never happened.

Duke did the same with Chris Duhon's momma back in the late 90s. They made her VP of a Durham bank if I remember correctly.

I think all this media hate comes from one thing, Fear. These ppl tried to end Wade’s coaching career and failed. They did this out of fear and spite because he was beating the kentuckys of the world and taking their recruits as well.And in their attempts to run him out of the sport they failed, and now he’s back, and more motivated than ever and they are panicking because they see the storm comming their way. I’m loving it cause In their failed attempt to drive him away., now they must reap what they sow.

Its really wild cause everything he has done or is doing has gone on for decades. Every sport in every top 20 has done it. Now they are "shocked".

Ya it is wild, something that has been happening since John Wooden at UCLA. They tried to make an example out of LSU cause we are not a blue blood and hasn’t really been a basketball powerhouse.them beating the Kentucky and Tennessee’s of the world had them all crying.

I was extremely pissed when we fired him because I love college hoops when LSU is good and he really had LSU bball fans coming back to life.
The hypocrisy of the media during his firing was next level - Vitale, Bilas and pretty much everyone acted like he committed murder. All while Sean Miller, Bill Self and others involved in the same investigation were still praised.
The others coaches mentioned had resources and personnel to do the dirty work in recruiting while Wade did not - so he put it upon himself to get it done.
Only reason he got caught. Now the same efforts are not only allowed but encouraged & LSU will step up the resources. I’m pretty damn excited and don’t give a damn about the media.
Edit: I think a lot of folks are now angry at the recruitment of players that were drafted / professional. Idgaf & let’s get this ship righted.

Considering Self at Kansas they kept him and he did way worse i think. Not sure of the details. Wade may have a be a victim of circumstance with other shite that was going on in other sports
