Real question. Who is it that gave Will Wade the money?

Would seem this person is in deep trouble also. Have not heard any names. Had to have been a few. He was not spending his own money. There must be a paper trail.

As I took it, Wade was literally dishing out his salary at LSU, to land us guys. True OG if so, stupid, but an OG for it.

I think most coaches would spend a portion of their salaries buying great players since it would mean millions more in salary for them down the road.
Most know they're not going to get away with it.

No. There does not have to be a paper trail. Ever. This is what makes Wade look like a complete idiot. Do you think a booster made a deposit into Wade's account? Unless he is just as dumb as Wade (unlikely) he either fronted or reimbursed Wade in hard cold cash and Wade either deposited the cash into his checking account (Clown level of ignorance) or used his checking funds (again, amateur hour) knowing he had cash from a booster to replace said funds.
Cheating didnt get Wade busted, stupidity got him busted.

You don’t really believe that do you? You think all of these college players and their families that have been paid over the many years have been paid out of coaches’ pockets? Nah, even if Wade was directly involved with the payment, which would be very stupid, he would have used some unreported NIL money to make it happen

I only think he used his own money to hush up the fiancé…how much was that 13k? Players have been getting bags of money forever and I doubt it’s the HC using his own money it’s boosters.

I think he used his own money. I think he was being blackmailed from a girlfriend of a player he coached at VCU. Did not want to involve anyone else because it was bad enough it was happening. He was EXTREMELY stupid how he did it though. But I mean dude could have been desperate. Who knows. I just know if he was paying players from his own pocket, we have to totally rethink what LSU is doing. Like that says alot, basketball is an after thought. Like 100 percent. I will not even think about the basketball team from this year on.

Maybe he was using his money I just don’t believe it was just his. I suspect he does have deposits into his acct of large amounts of cash. What is to stop them from following that and comparing it to other data? Would they not have already done this also? I am not an expert on this so do not honestly know. Even if people were giving him money I really do not care. I wish he had been smarter.

Point of geographic correction: NCAA is located in Indy - the jail may be in Terre Haute. It's not the end of the world but you can see it from the third floor of the courthouse.

True. But Chuck Person and multiple other assistant coaches as well as "agents" got arrested for pay-for-play schemes.
Does the FBI typically investigate NCAA issues?

That may be, but there are other people that would not want it to come out that VCU player/players were being paid. Aside from the alleged blackmail, he has been involved in a number of player payments, and he’s not using his money in those situations, in my opinion.
