"Brennan and Narcisse both should get looks within the next 2 weeks. I hate we wasted a whole spring/fall camp giving Etling 95% of the 1st team reps."

I was in Starkville and did not see Narcisse warming up with the QB's pregame. It was Etling, Brennan, McMillan and Lewis. Just curious if he even made the travel squad.

OL is supposed to block.
WR are supposed to catch & block.
RB are supposed to run, catch & block.
OC supposeded to game plan for the D & call a game that gives his QB a chance.
If all that happens 51% of the time, you win.
ET did a damn good job considering:
The OL did not block.
The WR did not catch & missed blocks.
The RB did little of the above very well.
The St D.C. had our OCs number from beginning to end.
The St coaches were one step ahead of everything we tried from beginnning to end.

My concern is the obvious lack of field discipline & a team that gave up at the end.
This is NOT Tiger football.

ET is our QB. Godspeed son, it could be a long year for you.

I agree play the young QB. Hell play both of our freshman QBs and see what we got.

Texas played their 2nd string freshman QB last night and he played solid against USC.

That crimson team east of us had a true freshman lead them to a NC game.

I'm sick of all these posters saying we don't have the line, our freshman would get killed, their confidence would be ruined. These excuses are such BS! Throw these freshman in and see what they got. If they suck at least we know to go recruit some more of them now instead of 2 years from now.

This shite has to stop. That was almost 10 years ago. We can't be afraid to play a young and talented QB because we might wreck his confidence.

Exactly. We aren't going to win the SEC West or a NC. We are playing damn near every freshman in our last recruiting class. I'm not blaming last nights loss on DE. But we have got to at least get our young QBs some meaniful playing time to build for the future. Hell we may be pleasantly surprised how the team responds underneath one of the freshman.

You don't put Brennan in for significant playing time until after the 2nd loss. While some fans may give up on the team, the players haven't quit. The inexperience and lack of depth in the online and front 7 was evident and that has to be addressed in recruiting. That combined with players not suited up then having players kicked out was too much to overcome. The biggest frustration was the penalties. Didn't give the offense a chance and the extended Miss State drives to the point the defense couldn't get off the field. Miss State is a better team at this time in the season but we are young and should improve, but we have a long way to go. LSU did everything possible to self destruct to a point I have never seen in a team. From dropped passes to penalties at key moments. With all that said firing alleva should be done at the first opportunity.

Ruin another young QB by throwing him to the wolves?

You sound young. We went through this when Periloux got kicked out. Every time we lost a game the next guy was some allstar that fans new would turn it around.

When lee played we wanted jefferson. Jefferson we wanted lee or mett. (This last one was probably correct, JJ sucked).

LSU would have lost yesterday with Tebow, Johnny Football, Joe Montana, etc all in their prime and sharing duty.

1 loss on a horribly played game is not cause for firing or changing a QB that really did not play bad under the circumstances. Now if we have several more games with no improvement then you have to look at the coach.

Brennan will get his chance and Etling would have been pulled yesterday if it was a QB issue on offense. It was a penalty issue and a lack of blocking.

Only a running QB might have improved the offense due to the poor protection, but even that is iffy due to the poor blocking

I agree that Brennan should see the field, but so should other back up QBs. At this point we just need someone who can threaten with their feet and throw on the run because this offensive line will not be able to handle half of the defensive lines we will face through the season.

I really don't think Brennan playing will "ruin" him like so many of you have suggested. The guy seems pretty dedicated to his craft and has the determination/fortitude to not let adversity get in his way (e.g., gained 20 lbs on his own, moved up the depth chart to #2). Brennan riding the season out has the opportunity for him to build character and possibly make him a better QB and team leader which we desperately need. The opposite side of the coin is he could get hurt but so could Etling with the way this Line has been playing.

Yeah not saying it couldn't backfire but with etling we are looking at a 8-4 type season and that's being really optimistic.

If we go 8-4, Coach O will have done a hell of a job.

If the biggest threat is 8-4, you leave the freshmen on the pine.

That said, 8-4 is no guarantee

I feel kind of quiet and silent over this LSU Football team lost to Miss State, you know. Sad over the LSU football team getting soundly beaten. I really like the LSU Fighting Tigers because they represent the best that our area of the country has to offer. Because LSU has worked hard over the years to enjoy a good reputation around the SEC and country. Maybe they can put it together better in the future football games to come. Geaux Tigers!

I want to see Brennan and Narcisse run the offense the next two games, maybe even McMillan. We need a spark. Because the OL is so bad and the run game looks mediocre at best, I'd rather Narcisse, but I don't think he will be accurate enough so Brennan intrigues me there.

Honestly I love this kid, but the kid will get broken in half because of this O-line.

If Etling gets you 8-4, why not just go with a guy who will actually BE HERE next year. Etling doesn't win us a game, and never has. We can kill two birds with one stone.

The offensive system will still be slow and putrid. It won't make much difference.

At some point I am going to ask for a refund for all these experiments! $6,800 for 5 season tickets and the highest paid OC and DC for this shite!
