It's crazy how many permanent tailgates I don't see anymore.

It's a travesty what they did to the strip along nicholson as well.

People pay to tailgate every year....It’s all about convenience ma brotha. Life is all about deciding how much work you want to do or how much money you are willing to pay to get the work done.

People age out and others take their spots. In the 2000s, you didn't see a lot of the permanent spots from the 80s, either.

Yeah I don’t mind having this kind of service as an option. If I didn’t really care about the money, I’d love to have someone set my tailgate up and take it down for me. More time to enjoy tailgating

I’m a little worried about it long term, as the admin will just see the dollar signs. Hopefully our new regime is committed to keeping the tailgate scene vibrant. I believe one of our old board members used to lament to people on a regular basis that everyone tailgating is “lost potential revenue for the school” or something to that effect. That rabbit hole goes to a bad place

Family has been tailgating between the Indian Mounds for 30 years. Figure it’s only a matter of time before they come for that.

I’m a millennial and when I went to LSU parking was free and the same tailgates always had the same spots. What is this bullshite? More reason to save money and catch it on TV? I wish they’d stop asking me for money every year as well.

There is still free parking and there are still the consistent tailgates in the same spots

This is an optional service. Unless you want to use the service it has zero effect on your tailgate

I meant places where there are tailgates and now nobody has taken their spot.

Yeah this isn’t bad. They didn’t take anyone’s old tailgate space and make them leave. The green space they do this in was where a building was demolished. I don’t think they’ll ever declare imminent domain over tailgate spots that people have unless it’s for construction

You're saying that eminent domain proceedings aren't imminent?

In Austin for the UT game the majority of tailgates were done by some kind of tailgate service with different packages

I dont love it, but it makes sense for some people.

During 2019, the Burrows were in one of those paid tailgate tents for multiple games since they were traveling to BR for them.

It's a small area in the grassy area by Pat Taylor that has been that way for a couple of years now

If not, I'm sure the average tailgater would destroy that grassy area and it's a way for LSU to keep that area from incurring damage from all the vehicular traffic that would set up shop there instead

The engineering bldg is a showpiece for bringing visitors on campus and the last thing they want is for tailgaters to ruin that spot

When the Vols won their NC, yrs ago, all the tailgating areas on campus...close to the stadium...were privitized. Now pretty much any place in the stadium area, a lot larger area now, costs. Small steps leading to more & more takeaways. Don't kid yourself, nothing will be free sooner rather than later. And this is State property.i.e. paid by our tax moneys.

The majority of the green space is where the old forestry building and Pierre's landing were. But, they did push out a few groups that tailgated in that space.
