one thing Etling has is accuracy

If so, it is not reflected in his stats at Purdue. I've never seen him throw so I'll withhold judgment but he completed 55.5%, (238 for 439) over two seasons at Purdue.

Of course, Harris has hit about the same rate (54%) and we certainly need that to improve.

I was speaking of his highlights where he hit some nice 15-20 yarders over the middle in some traffic but those were just highlights.

LOL at this being brought up as anything other than a footnote.

Yeah.

I don't really call attending the same high school more than 3 decades apart qualifies as a "connection".

Maybe this isn't the place, but this is what is going to happen. Having the depth of Etling and McMillan will free up Harris to do more designed runs. If Harris goes down, it will be Etling with a sprinkle of McMillan, who could run designed run plays as well. I think it's going to be a fun year. We finally have some decent fricking depth at the QB position. Thank the lord.

No back up from another team has come to a better program and won the starting job. There is a reason he was a back up at Purdue.

Players seem to think McMillan over Etling. We will see when Spring starts. One of them could be in the freshmen practice.

Yes, Jacob Coker certainly did not go from Florida State to Alabama and win the starting job there his second year. Also, Everett Golson didn't leave Notre Dame and start at Florida Stae. And Kyle Allen certainly won't have a chance to start at Oklahoma in '17.

I've got no dog in the Etling fight--have literally seen zero video of him playing--but let's not be retarded in here.

Kyle Allen won't have a chance to start at Oklahoma. I understand both points. Coker and Golson made lateral moves rather than Bolden and Etling who made transitions to better programs.

I just hope for the sake of the team, it is truly fair competition, something I don't believe was the case when Mettenberger arrived and Miles stuck with unproductive QB's.

Harris was not so outstanding that the job should be automatically conceded to him.

This is the coaching staff telling Harris through through the media that he needs to work harder.

I doubt he'd be eligible since he attends the University of Houston.

Yeah, I was slyly trying to put that in as a reply to see if that poster would catch that point. I believe I was the first to post of Allen's transfer to Houston...to be fair, I just posted information that I heard from his dad that favored him attending a Houston. It sounds like the dad had a lot to do with the final decision. The family really believes in coach Herman.

That other dude then. Hard to keep up with all the A&M QB transfers.
