Ravens DC pregame "I don't think we're ready to buy a gold jacket for Joe yet"

Before the game earlier in the week, the Ravens' defensive coordinator Wink Martindale seemed agitated at the media's infatuation with Joe Burrow in a press conference, Martindale responded to the media noting "I don't think we're ready to buy a gold jacket for Joe yet". After setting an NFL record passing against the Ravens' defense, Joe Burrow admitted in his postgame that he took offense to the Raven DC's remarks. Burrow described them as " unnecessary". The Ravens now probably feel the same way.

Joe’s response was great. Something to the effect of “obviously I’m not a HOFer yet, but that comment was just unnecessary.”
Then was asked if that statement motivated him. Gave that assassin smile. “Maybe.”

One thing for sure with Joe Burrow is you dont want to give the guy extra motivation to play against you. Seems like everyone that has pissed him off paid the price on the scoreboard.

It seemed like Harbaugh also mouthed off something to the Bengals coach when they met after the game. He probably wasn’t too pleased with the continued passing and scoring but his anger needs to be pointed towards the coach that said that about burrow and his defense that couldn’t stop him.

To give you an idea of how motivated Joey was in this game, his head coach told him in the 4 quarter to not scramble, just throw the ball away. Joey B ignored him repeatedly.
