LSU ran fewer options and designed runs in which Harris was the likely or intended ball carrier.

This is probably the biggest sign that his apparent regression can be attributed (at least partially) to injury.

Interesting. I recall a few designed roll outs in the bowl game. Harris also scored off a zone read if I recall correctly.

I agree with money, when you look back at that butt kicking, when our O-Line came off the ball they were to a man 1-2 yards driven backwards. LF7 had nowhere to go at all. I don't blame Harris nearly as much as i do both sides of lines, we were crushed at the line of scrimmage, and that hurts as much as the final score. Screw the gumps

FOREVER LSU

Call it what you want, but that defensive line dominated us and had a real effect on the passing game.

Thank you

That was as big a bucket of hooey as I have seen in quite some time... Fashion yourself as quite the CFB expert I gather.

quote:

First off, when facing a team last in the conference stopping the run, especially b/w the tackles, I would assume our gameplan to be much what we are accustomed to seeing. Plays right into our hands. But, for some inexplicable reason, we decided to show off our QBs accurate passing skills, throwing 1st and 10, 2nd and 5, etc.

You must have been in the shitter when we ran LF up the middle against the 120th ranked rush defense and got stuffed for a loss 3-4 times.

quote:

Let's say he was injured and not an option to carry the ball. Why handicap your offense that way? Especially when you saw first hand the damage the QB did on the ground vs their defense just last year, using a guy that's sitting on your bench. If Harris could have just had even a couple of early carries, just think how much more effective Fournette could have been if A&M had to respect the QB as a viable running option.

I see why you cant rationalize this because that was the dumbest analysis I have ever seen but it seems to make good sense to you. Keep on coaching that fantasy league.

Injured or not, Harris completed the full Miles transformation Sat night on the 2 pt conversion play. He went full-Jefferson w the aborted, forward pitch pass. You can change the name of the QB, you can change the name of the OC, the production will remain the same under Miles.

He's got a few qbs, wrs, rbs up the LSU leader boards.

Harris struggled because LSU played against some of the best rushing defenses in the country in Nov, and he couldn't carry the offense.

This. I'm not buying the injury excuse. Harris had his confidence injured and it didn't return until the second half of TT when LSU had physically worn them down.

It's called run blitzing. They did it all night. They had zero fear we could beat them passing the ball. They were correct.

Harris struggles with footwork and field vision. A lot on both counts. The minor hernia is not the reason he struggle for the 3 games in November. Perhaps the Oline also sucked, but he was off a lot in those games.

Going through surgery just strengthens the ruse right?

You're right, it's not like a fricked up core would have anything to do with accuracy issues and mechanics going to hell.

Was there a play where he got hit and came up a bit lame? Did he ever look injured in that game? If your theory is true, why did he look like crap from the get go? Hell, on our first drive he had LF wide open on a route out of the backfield with nothing in his way but a safety 10 yards away. And BH missed badly. If your theory about injury was true, wouldn't it make more sense to claim that he got hurt the game before vs WKU?

There's no "theory" you clown. Media has stated he was injured in the first half against Alabama and had a 5 hour surgery to repair it today. He'll be out 6-8 weeks for recovery. Some people's sperm.

Just watched a good portion of the Bama game and there is a noticeable difference in his movements from the time he took the hit on the td pass in the 2nd quarter. He had a few gains on keepers after this and got up slowly. He was hunched over as he took the field on one series. He went from energetic and bouncy to tired and hurt late in the 2nd quarter. Probably the pain intensified during the halftime break because he was off his game for the entire second half.
