You would have to show proof to me that LSU fans are "not really" "some of the most negative fans I've seen anywhere". Did you read any of the postings last night - during our tenth win of the season coming over a higher ranked team than us?

You had "respected" national pundits saying they were having a hard time finding 7 wins on LSU's schedule this year. That's what I'm referring to.

O isn't going to be able to rally the team around xxTigerbait69xx posts on the rant.

Most of the guys I've seen bashing player were the O/E supporters trying to make excuses for what others thought were poor coaching choices.

I do wish people would lay off players, though. And I wish people would honestly and rationally look at both coaches and players instead of trying to defend a position or opinion.

in defiance of the odds and the negativity LSU played some good football this season.

I'm glad LSU won 10 games.
I'm glad LSU beat UCF and won the Fiesta Bowl.
I want LSU to win every game from now until I die.

But the above bolded statement is what I take issue with.
LSU's football program's goals are not to play "good football". It's not to win 10 games. It's not to have a top 10 recruiting class every year. It's not to feel good about winning 9 regular season games just because ESPN said we should only win 7.

LSU's goals are to consistently compete for the West, the SEC and the Playoff.

All these moral victories sound great on paper, but they do nothing to push this program towards it's goals.

I feel more confident going into next year now than I did earlier this season, but we've seen this same song and dance many many time before. I'm hoping next year is different and we can pull off an 11 win season and compete for the West/SEC.

Ben, your original post in this thread currently has 100 upvotes a 5 downvotes. My guess is that the small group of posters sucking each other off while defending themselves through deflection constitutes a part of those 5 downvotes. As I have noted before, they are a small but vocal group. I would ignore them if I were you.

Solid advice. They're trying to derail the thread by making it about me.

it is just what they usually do when you call them out. They try to flip the subject with false narratives and false equivalencies

They aren't trying to make the thread about you. They are simply asking a question. Why is it that they get blasted for saying SE has been very poor in the redzone and against top defenses while at the same time it's perfectly okay that the Actual Coaches say that they need better players? The "it's the Jimmy's and Joe's, not X's & O's" argument was heavily defended by you and others earlier this year. So to me it looks like it's you and the actual coaches who are bashing the players, saying they aren't good enough for LSU while the "negas" are saying that LSU has plenty of talent and there is no excuse to have such a low offensive rating.

I mean lets not forget. Coach O threw the Defense, especially the DL, under the bus after the Bama loss even though they held Bama to their lowest point total all year. So in a game where the offense did absolutely nothing, you had the head coach blaming the players on defense and not the offensive coordinator. Rashad even tweeted about that after.

Ben, tell me the difference between saying a 19 year old isn't good enough to play at LSU and saying Ensminger isn't good enough to be the OC at LSU?

There is a huge difference. Talk about Giles fielding punts, CHE running the ball, Brumfield blocking etc it is diferent then talking shite about coaches not being able to coach.

Players hear that shite and who wants to play for a coach that everyone comments can't fricking coach.... it does effect players and it effects recruits. I know the inevitable "prove it" come in but how can you expect to get the new up and coming out of state OT, QB, DT or DE to come in when these whispers are shouted on a message board about lsu fans and some insiders close to the program. Unless you frequent board every day you dont no who is full of shite and who isnt but they are still bashing the person you hope to recruit you to come to lsu or stay for your senior year. Who wants that?

Do you really think that LSU fans are the only fans that complain and are negative? Go check out a Georgia message board today and it’s all the same. Every major college football fan base overreacts good or bad hence the word fan which stems from fanatic.

LSU fans complaining is part of our history. Instead of trying to make it better, we complain and then when rankings of states come out and we are at the bottom, we say "Let's Mardi Gras-throw me something mister." Ok, hit me with the down votes but prove I am wrong.

because that isn't what they say. They take it way over the top. There is a difference between being critical of certain aspects of the team and going full retard. They go full retard.

I doubt they have a bunch of idiots calling for the head coach to be fired and saying he is an idiot that never should have been hired and that the only reason he was hired is because he talks like a Georgia country boy.

CSB

I went to the sugar bowl last night, sat in the UGA section. Those fans were positive and cheered and believed until the last onside kick was secured by Texas. Nobody bashed anyone. Nobody f bombed Fromm after ever errant throw. Then walking out of the dome they were calm and how friendly they were. My brother and I made comment about how different the whole atmosphere would have been if we had shat the bed in the sugar bowl. LSU fans suck. As a whole, we are a shitty fanbase. Not me of course, and many of you, who are also rationale, realistic, and supportive of the players

I admit I’ve been negative about players or coaches at times, but I also praise both and have been wrong at times for overreacting. However there’s a portion of the LSU fan base on TD where the negativity towards LSU coaches or players is a constant barrage. These are the people LSU players and myself have a real problem with.
