nobody is saying Scott can't have a different opinion. We're merely saying his opinion is too often (or always) far too soft on any problems that may exist.

I want to see various opinions (good and bad) about LSU sports, not one-way homerism.

If you want to read LSU sports news without the bullshite, Dandy is where it’s at. Scott does a great job since Don passed. Even when Don was around Scott did a lot, if not all of the field work and Don did the reporting.

Don was a great LSU fan, and even better person.

Use to love his positive email responses.

Definitely donated every year when they asked for money.

Between the homerism, the warm sappy stories of stuff that I too deal with on a daily basis, the incessant mentioning of baseball on a football recruiting page (I hate baseball personally but respect our fans who love it and Tigers who wear the P&G and wish them well) the ridiculous Winn Parish creek bank fishing stories and his fricking garden I gave up months ago. It’s a damn football recruiting blog, or at least it was with Don was around.

But even so, maybe it’s the damn Mike Detillier (whoever the frick he is?); maybe it’s just his warm sunshiny outlook, I don’t know I just can’t relate to a guy always wants pat on the back because he takes care of his family, cooks, gardens and fishes - mainly because I do all that and realize that we’re both some boring arse old dudes.

In the end, I realized it’s not him - it’s me. So I quit reading and my morning has been the better for it.

Scott never claimed to be an “objective” reporter. He’s just a fan. I applaud the guy for doing what he can to keep people informed and give his perspective. If positivity is the worst thing someone can say about the guy, that probably says more about them than him.

Even if it is similar information found on the Rant I still very much enjoy reading Dandy Don. You get the information without having to sift through pages upon pages of bama envy, fire everyone, and everyone sucks. It is sad that the guys site is getting bashed for having a positive outlook on LSU sports.

Are you suggesting that news on TD wasn't reported somewhere else first?

Scott has a sports blog that is updated once per day, of course it's not going to be real time like twitter or even TD.

Personally, I love reading his page because I don't have to wade through mountains of negative crap and trolls.

He isn’t “just a fan”. He and his father have held press credentials for years, are given access to people and places “just fans” can’t reach, and are widely recognized and relied on as a reliable source of information on the program. He also takes money from his readers to maintain his site and access to the program. Not unreasonable of him to do so at all, but he isn’t “just a fan”.

And positivity is one thing.

Ignoring signs that someone’s history is repeating itself is just naivety, willful ignorance, or just part of the propaganda machine that Ponamsky is trying to maintain.

It is a great site and hobby and was a great gift to his father. He is obviously free to use it however he wishes.

I simply won’t rely on it for information anymore, and certainly won’t give him money to do it anymore.

ETA: Why is this anchored??

if positivity is all there is, even when rational critique is clearly appropriate, it hurts his credibility. It then just becomes mostly a cheerleader page.

If that's what people want, then it certainly has value, but I'm looking for more honesty, both positive and negative.

I thought it was originally intended to be a site for LSU recruiting news not LSU editorial commentary. I can't see any way that guy could keep his site going if he burned bridges with anyone let alone the LSU head football coach.

His father was the same way. It was only when things got really bad that he would acknowledge that it's time for a change.

I will say that I find DD less useful these days. When his father was alive, I got the impression that he could get info straight from the horse's mouth sometimes on a recruit or two. I don't think that way now.

Ironic how people label other people as not being objective "at all" when they don't fall dovetail into the doom and gloom of the Rant.

And that some think they know what overs will do IF Dandydon doesn't get in line with the doomsday outlook...comical delusion.

Rantards like this are the non-objective, delusional ones. They've made up their minds with little more than they hope LSU fails so they can say "I told you" and LSU can get yet another coach.

These people are worse than non-objective, they are pathetic. Congratulations!
