With what Florida defense just did to Texas, does the Florida victory look a lil better than the Ole Piss loss?

I think it shows what a big deal home field advantage is in the portal era. It’s a different team every week in this era.

No. Reb d is terrible and BK didn't have a clue how to attack a 3 man line. Think about that.

It’s kind of all over the place now. It’s why the playoff will eventually need to expand.

That makes sense, water it down even more.

Have you considered Texas is just not that good?

It’ll mean the team who can hang the longest wins. Since there are no perfect teams anymore. Like most sports. I prefer the old ways, but with the transfer portal, I think expanding the playoff is the way to go.

All about matchups. Half the board thinks lsu won't win another game this season. Lol

You do realize Ohio State wouldn't have made the playoffs last year, if it wasn't "watered down"?
2 losses and didn't even play in the Big 10 championship.
They torched #1, undefeated Oregon in the playoffs.

The game has already changed, contenders will focus on fixing their issues rather than go balls-out to win every game. LSU may do the same this year... you have a defense, you have guys on offense. Get the offense turned around and rolling at the end of the year, and nobody would want to play them. They can still lose once more and not be out of it.

It's kind of similar to the approach you take with college baseball; don't stress about being #1 or winning your conference. Get things set up so you can win in the new format, and then make it into the playoffs.

LaTech showed the 3man8drop defense and it worked pretty well even when LT was totally out manned at every position. OM picked up on that and every team we play from now on is going to make LSU beat that defense. And you want to know why we will never beat that defense? Because our Oline in unable to block 3 or 4 dlinemen rushers, not blitzers, with 5 and 6 linemen. That is it in a nutshell. So if we don't run run run and play action out of the run, then LSU offense will be as inept in every game the rest of the year as it was against OM. OM was not a powerful D team. We have much better Defenses waiting on our schedule.

I don't feel any better about the Ole Miss loss... I felt the offense performed just like we expected it would… I was probably a little more disappointed in the defense, as I did not think a D2 transfer would eat us up like that

I felt like Kiffin's offense was a step ahead of our defense...and their final play on 4th down in the 4th quarter made that obvious.

But the defense was on the field for 84 plays. That is too many to expect any defense to play elite.

Nope

Nothing is relevant right now unless it piles on to the already disappointing season we are having

Which defense hasn't looked good vs Texas?

I've been thinking about this offense line quite a bit, and I really have a hard time believing Division I high ranked offensive lineman can't physically block a 3 man front. It has to be scheme related. I mean this is an entirely different line from last year but you still can't run the ball? These kids aren't being taught correctly.
