ESPN

I admittedly don't watch much WBB, but will always pull for the Lady Tigers. I was bored and looked at the "Way-Too-Early Top 25" that was posted after the game last night.

Any idea why LSU is missing? Don't we have a good recruiting class coming in? Hard to believe we're not even in the Top 25? I know it's just an arbitrary list, but I was curious.

1. South Carolina
2. UConn
3. Stanford
4. Texas
5. Maryland
6. Iowa
7. Iowa State
8. Tennessee
9. Notre Dame
10. Oklahoma
11. UNC
12. Arizona
13. Ohio State
14. Louisville
15. Virginia Tech
16. NC State
17. Indiana
18. Oregon
19. Utah
20. Nebraska
21. Kansas
22. UCLA
23. Princeton
24. Creighton
25. Baylor

Also considered: South Dakota State, Arkansas, Kansas State, Gonzaga

What gives?

Just when I thought Woodward had us becoming a WBB school. We can't even get the respect for a too early top 25 poll.

As someone mentioned they are losing 4 starters and honestly its a women's college basketball way too early Top-25 they simply it looks like took the Sweet 16 and sprinkled some other teams in. LSU has three elite recruits that will each be All-SEC caliber. Two top 100 recruits and the nations best JUCO player. Also Mulkey will the transfer portal hard. Sports journalism has always been bad now it is just pathetic.

Way too early polls make money for writers and publishers. Some fans may be interested, but these are of limited usefulness. The rosters are not set. Injuries occur. Great coaches like Mulkey can take players who didn't show in past year and really change their impact.

You shouldn't put too much stock in preseason polls. The Lady Tigers were projected to finish 8TH in the SEC this past year.

They are losing 5 seniors. That is a lot to lose after 1 year. Even Kim said next year the team will look a lot different and will not have the same success that this team did. Get those Freshmen to become sophmores and Juniors and that team will be good. So about 1-2 years away.

LSU losses 4 starters but let’s see what the roster looks like after the transfer portal is finished. That changes a lot for everyone

Kim said in a radio show this week they have landed multiple transfers but have not announced it yet. One of those transfers I believe is L. Williams, 6’4 post player from Missouri. Former 5 star recruit that played at SC as a freshman. She averaged 10 PPG

That would be a nice pickup. Hopefully Blackwell is another.

Baylor #25 ? That should tell you that this ranking is BS. I don’t think KM will lose any sleep over it.

I would much rather be ranked at or near the top at the end of the season, and I would bet money the CKM will have us there at the end of next season.

I’m pretty sure that over 90% of our scoring, and 75% of our rebounding was from seniors. Most of whom were grad students and 5th year seniors. Probably has something to do with it.
