I used to let LsU losing ruin my day/weekend/week lol. When we lost the national title to Bama back in 2011, I realized how stupid it was.

Kids took my lsu passion from a 10 to a 7ish..
Which honestly is where it should be.
I used to let a loss eat at me for a couple days. Now I go play with the kids and forget all about it

Naw. Taught martial arts out there for three years. Had a lot of students at the base. Good people. We would drive north and snow ski. That's a blast.

I have the same desire for LSU to win every time. My passion has lessened - only b/c testosterone levels aren’t what they used to be
I have more of a passion now, for LSU as a whole university & athletic program - to be the BEST…facilities, people, coaches, colleges, student life, etc.

Juan - at 79, I share your perspective and emotional/mental frame re wanting excellence for the entirety of the program. I also pull for the University to impact the whole state and raise its economy/education level out of the pits....

I'm 76 so I remember 1958 (barely). Going all that time, the 2003 Championship was by far the best to me. Waiting 45 years will do that to you.

Mid 50's. I calmed down a bunch the last 5 years but it still hurts after a loss. I live in Abu Dhabi so I watch most of the games as a 7PM night game it is 4AM until mid season and 5AM late in the season with winter time change. If I'm in Bali or Thailand then a 7PM game is at 7AM in Bangkok or 8AM in Bali, but I never miss a game. I'm watching either on the beach at the bar watching waves crash in or in my hotel room watching the Tigers!

I mean, I hoop and holler. I have much nervous energy before and during big games. When we lose I get pissed and then get over it for the most part. I think it’s about the same energy but much more focused.

Crazy enough, going to Omaha and seeing Florida beat us helped me appreciate all sports a little more.
I hated Florida, but couldn’t help but be a little excited to see College Kids who worked so hard at something achieve a dream. Sure I was still disappointed, but I’ve learned to appreciate competition and the work of all athletes.

I do not get as high or as low as I did when I was younger. It was the last two years of Gerry Dinardo that did me in. Pre-1998, I knew every player on the roster, their hometown and their recruiting story. I rarely missed a home game and made 2-3 road games a year.
But
The absolute frustration of Lou Tepper in ‘98 and Dinardo’s complete self destruction in ‘99 broke something in me. I have never been as passionate as I was before.
I still have season tickets but only make 1-2 games a year. I watch most games on TV but don’t get nearly as high or as low as I did before. I will hate Dinardo (and Joe Dean) forever!

I don't stress out as much now that I am older. I would get jacked up, and drunk, and call in to tell the network what I thought. LOL. I laugh now but that was stupid shite.

I think when you are younger you have that youthful passion for the game and everything in amplified. It's true in other aspects of your life as well.
For me it started in the early 90s when I was friends with some Saints coaches who actually explained the game going on behind the scenes. Made me see upper level football in a whole new light.

You need some perspective.

Do you have the same passion for the tigers as when you were younger. Maybe mis phrased that. Do you let your emotions get to like when you were younger over a game.
I a word no. Losses used to stay with me for days and affect my life way too much. There is still the love there but not like that anymore. I don't get on folks for leaving early like I used to, I don't get as pissed about no students at basketball games or folks just not supporting basketball like I used to.
I move on much easier.

Same. I graduated from LSU and 2 of my kids did as well.
I don’t live in LA, so I’m not exposed to what’s going on other than through this site really.
So I’m not as interested and will only go to a game if it was a family get together purpose.

If you’re breaking TV’s and your day/week is ruined bc of 18 year old kids playing a game…
I’d say you need to seek help baw

same. when very young i would punch a hole in a wall like after UGA loss in 99. burn a tee shirt like after UGA loss in 98. then it evolved to was pissed all week after a loss. then once 1-9 hit and i saw how miles shite the bed and really did not take that game seriously and the serious apathy miles put into the fanbase and program after that game when we knew he was done, you stop giving a frick and are over it within 5 minutes after the game and have more important shite to worry about.

Still have the passion. Still makes my heart pound as if I am playing the game. But after going through the Curley Hallman years and others where we lost A LOT, I am grateful for good seasons. Championships are absolutely thrilling.
But only one team per year wins the championship, and it can't always be yours. As long as we don't suck, I can be contented because I love the Tigers.

Having kids put everything in perspective for me. My highs are still high, but my lows are much more mild with LSU sports
