It's crazy how much talent has passed through or baseball program ,the last few years I do realize we have been to World Series and Super regionals a lot . Would really like to hear what you guys think about Paul as far as big time coach. Seems to me at least he is not a big game coach. He gets us there but , something seems missing once we get in position to win the big one. Maybe as a LSU baseball fan I am spoiled . Really would like to hear your thought.

I think he's one of the best in the game. Being a national seed to me is more impressive than winning the whole thing (yet obviously less satisfying). Omaha is a completely different game than the regular season with the elongated schedule, and it's more about who is hot then who is the best (unlike football where the better teams 19 of 20 games).

This isn't the late 80's and 90's. There is a ton of talent in college baseball. I think Paul is one of the best coaches going right now. He gets a national see almost every year and has made several deep runs into the postseason and has a National Championship.

He’s one of the top five coaches in college baseball.

There aren't many coaches better in the game.

College baseball, as a whole, has changed a ton in recent history. The lack of success, which LSU is still more successful than 95% of the rest of college baseball teams, has more to do with the changed game than CPM.

I mean, this is the rant, you gotta expect to get some shite. Especially when you ask a question about a coach who has won almost 1400 baseball games, been coach of the year several times and won Championships.

Give you that one. Not questioning , My opinion. Not sure some here really realize how talented some of our teams have been. I do realize other teams are equally as talented .

Watch another team besides LSU and every top notch program has roughly the same amount of talent. Florida has had the most talented teams every year for the last 5+ seasons and didn’t win it all until last year.

He’s a very good coach. The argument can definitely be made that LSU should be making legitimate noise in Omaha every 3-5 years, so PM definitely needed last year’s run to the finals to cool his warming seat.

IMO, LSU should be:
-hosting a regional every year (Top16)
-hosting a Super most years (Top8)
-making CWS majority of years (Final8)
-making Semifinals/Finals in Omaha every 3-5 years
-winning it all at least every 5-10 years

PM has done a really good job at LSU imo. But this job never ends ... gotta keep it going and keep LSU up top.

Very true. For my money Florida State should have several national championships. Wasted talent there.
