Because that discussion is a waste of time. It’s a subjective argument and regardless on if someone would name a better coach or not the majority of fans will shoot it down simply because they like CPM. Of all the coaches in LSU history he’s provided more protection and defense from the Rant than any other and it’s impossible to have an honest debate about him. The Rant even marginalizes Skip to elevate CPM it’s insane.

Well now you know that you cannot even question CPM on this board. I’ve never seen anything like it, no matter what he does even if you’re not criticizing him and asking an honest question like you did you will get attacked here.

Coach at Fla. State has been to Omaha over 20 times and never won a Natty...should tell us something. Paul is a very good coach, college baseball is very competitive now. Texas wanted him, that's another clue.

when you compare LSU baseball to Alabama football or Duke basketball we don’t measure up and that’s because CPM isn’t on their coaches level even though the Rant proclaims he is.

who is mother fricker? who, in college baseball is better than PM? in today's game, with today's schollie limits, with todays bats, who is the fricking greatest dominate program in the nation?

you are a moron.

Seems to me at least he is not a big game coach...Really would like to hear your thought.
Oh wow. Yet another thread inviting fans to bash either LSU players, LSU coaches, or both. Ya know, there's no such thing as too many of these wonderful posts.

Was posting in general, not throwing your way. However, Fla. State has been to Omaha more times than us I would bet. But they don't have the Natty yet. It's tough to win it, that's my point.

Look back at what I posted I agree , Florida State has wasted more talent then any school in the history of college baseball.

I hear ya and I was just saying that I don’t disagree that CPM is a very good coach. My post was more about the fans, when you compare the number 1 programs across the 3 major sports LSU hasn’t won on the level of the other 2 yet CPM is touted as those coaches equal.

CPM Is a awesome coach, we all agree. We are lucky to have him. All I wanted was to hear what others thought. I thought it was a coach. O post lol I have heard from the rant several times that he can be a arse. Just by looking at games , when I see CPM talking to players he seems to have s a calming way about him. You can see players smiling and seem to loosen up.

Well, we have been a top 8 seed for like 8 straight years. The only coach I would consider on Paul's level is Corbin at Vandy. Maybe the guy at Florida too.
That's about it.

O’sullivan at Florida Is probably the best coach in the country but even he never won it all until last year and he probably has had more talent, especially pitching talent, than LSU has had over the last 5 years.

This is how the conversation gets derailed every time. Like when Miles was here it’s always “who’s better, name me someone better to replace him.” The OPs original questions were, does he make strange mistakes at critical times and has he underachieved at times. Both answers are yes. Nobody’s saying fire CPM or we want someone better. What we want is for him to do better.

Nobody’s had better pitching than LSU over the past 5 years. Last year yes they did but nobody’s had the arms like Gausman, Nola, Poche, Lange ext over the last few seasons.

Interesting similarity between Paul and Miles..both won a Natty and played for another. That's probably going to be hard to duplicate, no matter the coach. Hope I'm wrong...

Loosing to Texas on Sunday was not a surprise. Looking at the way we had to win games in the first two is just a lttile mind boggling on how we give up so many runs.
I enjoy the come back wins like anyone. I just am not convinced we show up to play in dominate fashion.

I can agree midweek games are about development but you also have to play to win. I would think the teams that win the CWS in today’s games win those mid week games consistently with good margins of victory
