If he were to do that it would have already happened. If he is swaggy enough to think he can beat out Walker next year then more power to him
After all, he’s only one MB fishing trip away from starting next year

What makes you assume Brennan will beat out Nussmeier or Howard. He has never won a true QB competition since coming to LSU.

As the other guy said, BK is probably making no promises but our qb situation is good. It’s going to be the guy who understands instructions from BK and speeds the institution of his offensive style. Flashy skills will take a backseat to leading the charge as you have been instructed.

No they do not start on a level playing field. Brennan is a 23 year grown man. Nuss and WH are 18 and 19 year old boys. MB is in his 6th year and has been coached by the best, (Brady) and played behind the best, (Burrow). He’s watched and learned what it takes. Just like Burrow, Brennan will be in the football facility 24/7. I promise you he will not be beat out by a RF freshman or a true freshman.

keaker , Quit showing your ignorance. You have no idea how many offers MB had on the table. I do and you would be shocked at the fact that he chose LSU again over some of his offers.

MB should be able to best the young guns out….but hopefully Nuss sticks around to battle Howard. I think Nuss should burn the shirt play the bowl game and backup MB next year if beaten out. Walker going to have to come in and soak up a year get physically mature.

How is the OP creating a QB controversy by stating that Brennan will be the starter? I think it's being a tad dramatic to say that we don't know who the starter is going to be, just because Brian Kelly is new here, when you have a 15th year senior who's actually shown in his few starts that he can be pretty good; then another guy who just went out there and threw the ball around with no particular idea of where it was going most of the time; followed by a true freshman.
I also don't think it's unreasonable to assume that Brennan would not have returned, if he hadn't had a conversation with Kelly that assured him he was the leader in the clubhouse.
If something happens between now and next season, where either Nuss or Howard pass up Brennan, good for them. But it's not the least bit controversial to presume that Brennan is the starter. It's perfectly reasonable. You're actually creating controversy out of a non controversy.

Beyond reasonable that Brennan would start. Nuss was putrid when he got his chance. If Ogre put Max back in for the 4th Q, LSU probably wins that game. And anybody that now refuses to play in a bowl game. No thanks.
