Inexperienced Quarterback coupled with an average OL cost us the game. With more experience, Johnson would have compensated.

Max got very jumpy & impatient in the pocket after he was sacked or hit hard a half dozen times in the 1st quarter. Any QB would be rattled & play like shite while running for his life on EVERY pass play. Unless the OL improves drastically LSU could start Brees or Brady & still get beat by any half decent FBS Team!

Hopefully CEO can turn it around like he did after the Troy debacle a few years back. If he can’t this team may have a chance to be one of the worst teams LSU has fielded in 20 years.

Based upon the UCLA game his stats for a 13 game season are 4290 yards, 39 tds.

Attacking Max right now is just as stupid as attacking Myles Brennan for our losses to start last year.

Our problem is obviously O-line play, putrid Ed O lead defense. We cant run the ball. UCLA out rushed us 200 yard to 51.

There were plenty of times he had decent protection and he fricked up.

He held onto the ball too long, he was inaccurate. He back pedaled when he should have stepped up. He had a bad game and it’s NOT all the OL’s fault.

Yeah this was the shocking part for me... 48 yards rushing and most of that from your QB...

Lawd...

Our Oline is a mess..

3??

1) At Plamers feet missing a clear TD
2) Behind Palmer in the EZ, where Plamer was able to only get one hand on it, missing another clear TD
3) Threw to the inside of Boutte in the EZ, instead of to the sideline, missing another certain TD
4) Terrible interception that the tight end didn't even recognize as a pass to him
5) The behind the back nonsense
6) Threw a floater to a wide open Boutte that allowed the DB to gain enough ground to rip the ball away
7) Threw to TDP out of the backfield before he even turned to look for the ball
8) Led a wide open Jenkins too far out of bounds

I can Count at least 3 bad throws that cost us TDs

1. Skipped one to Palmer who was wide open.
2. Threw a yard behind Palmer in the end zone
3. Threw behind Boutte in the end zone when he was open.

Then there is the mile high pass to Besch
The one he threw over our TE like he was trying to throw a pass the LB
The Behind the back pass
The late throw to an open Boutte that allowed the Saftey time to come in and break up the play.

And a few more that were late, behind, low, high or completely out of bounds.

Maybe not by itself....but Johnson himself solely left 14 pts on the board.

And the INT that led to a TD.

That’s 21 point swing that he is responsible for

The reality is we don't have an SEC-caliber OL and it shows every game. If Johnson would have had decent protection, we could have won the game. He was making bad passes because he was getting killed back there and wanted to try and make a play. Any QB that is getting pounded into the ground every play isn't going to be able to make many plays. We're in for a long season because this OL is pathetic!
I rewatched the first half. He got good protection, even on blitzes. He was even playing OK but missed a few passes. Then halfway through the 2nd quarter he got happy feet and left the pocket early or dropped back way too far.

Obviously he had that solid 3rd quarter TD drive that probably kept Nuss on the sideline. Outside of that, he clearly didn't have the "It" factor his stans have all been claiming.

Clearly.

So now they're deflecting, making excuses and finger pointing.

Out of 50-60 drop backs, nothing abnormal about that.

You guys have been watching way too many 2019 videos, that's not realistic. He played very solid and good if you consider no rushing attack and HIS 3rd FULL GAME.

Considering no rush attack and limited protection, absolutely a solid game... nobody hits every pass bro.

Stop watching 2019 highlights.

He played very solid

He missed TWO TD passes. TWO!!

He fumbled twice.

He threw a disastrous behind the back pass.

He hit the UCLA LB on the numbers for an interception.

He was inaccurate for the most part.

Whoppee do... happens to every QB.

It was a very solid game.

You guys have been watching way too many 2019 videos.

- virtually no rushing threat
- limited pass protection

He did his job plus. You guys should go watch videos of 2015 and 2016 of QB play that is bad.

Yeah but good QBs hit way more than Johnson did.

He had more inaccurate throws than accurate ones.

And when people can point to numerous bad throws it probably means you had a bad night.

The INT was an inexcusably bad throw.

And yeah that happens to everyone once and a while, but when it does no one pretends it wasn’t a bad play
