QB 1 Excitement

Anybody watch the Leavitt presser today? Couple of things stood out imo.
-Kid has it between the ears. Ability to make eye contact and have sharp responses in the media says a lot about a player, especially a quarterback. Seems like Sam was raised right and is very intelligent which will pay dividends for us big time, esp in hostile road games. Also mentioned how he eats, sleeps, and breathes watching film.
-Relationships with wide outs. Talked highly about the trip to Dallas sponsored by Gordon, think it says a lot about him as a person and as a player. Kid obviously got paid top dollar to be here but he’s playing for more than the blank check. He’s been to the playoffs and wants to make a run as bad as anybody, love that he’s spending his own time building that chemistry in a complex Kiffin/Weis Offense.
-Big smile when Trey Dez Green’s name was mentioned. 14 seems like a huge locker room guy and we all know he has unbelievable talent and measurables. Can’t wait to see him be a huge threat for us this season.
-Finally, and most important, says he is at 100% and has been for some time. Huge news for the tigers with little under a month till Clemson comes to town.
-Excited to see what Leavitt and this offense can do. Might take some time to get clicking but retaining Baker as well as some leaders on that side of the ball has given me confidence September will be just fine. Geaux Tigers

I've been on Sam since his Senior yr. HS, he's a gem.... Happy he got to come to BR... Hope it works out and he plays to his fullest under Kiffin... he will flourish

It’s just strange to me how the national consensus is to hate both Leavitt and Lane. Both are simply just taking a step up in their careers just like dozens of other coaches and thousands of other players do every offseason. I guess kiffin’s was because he left a team that was in the playoffs but in reality Ole Miss blocked him from being able to coach it then put their own twist on it to the public. And then Leavitt got injured after his OL got him killed through 7 games and he decided he wanted better and he’s hated for it lol.

It seems like everyone here has a chip on their shoulder. I love it. The coaches have a huge chip, the new players, and the existing players too.
I haven’t felt this level of hunger from a team in quite some time.

It's human nature for fans to not like seeing the "big market" team take a "smaller market" team's best players (or in this case coach as well). You see it any time the Dodgers, or Yankees, or Lakers sign a smaller market team's good players.

Its more than that. We are not and have never been a media darling. If Kiffin would have gone to Texas, Michigan, Bama, Notre Dame, or Ohio State it would not have been the same. We are still new to the party and we never had an invitation. We crashed the party and have been fighting the bouncer trying to kick us out.
