To be honest it seems kind of wierd that the rule developed that way in the first place (the old home team wears colored jersey rule).
If you think about it before the advent of widespread t.v. coverage when most spectators saw the games in person this doesn't make a lot of sense. For example: if your home team color is purple, then every week you see one team with purple jerses and another with white jerseys.
Where if the rule had been home team wears white, every week you would see one team with white and you'd see a variety of other colors each week - red one week, blue one week, green one week, etc.

its not that hard to understand.If its an SEC game, LSU will wear white in Tiger Stadium. If its an OOC game, LSU will request to wear white if it wants. The OOC team has the right to deny or accept LSU'srequest.

I'm a fan of the purple jersey.
IMO, its the best in college football. Also, may the most unique uniform in college football. (Excluding Orgeon's many different ugly fashion statements, again IMO)

It's simple. The NCAA rule states all home teams must wear dark jerseys. Home teams may request to wear white prior to the season, but such request can be denied.
The SEC took it one step further to avoid any controversy from denying teams to wear white. In SEC games, home teams can wear white if requested before the season.

I cannot believe that there is a thread on this jersey rule every year.
In the SEC the HOME TEAM gets to choose the color of their jersey. Period. The visiting team has NOTHING to say about it. NOTHING!
