I'm hopeful LSU can build off of the great effort and win these two road games before the home game against Florida. Florida is a big name and will draw a big crowd if LSU gets these two wins. It was incredible being inside the PMAC with 13,000 people.

This may be true but I have been going to games with my dad since 1990 and I was a student during the final 4 run in 2006 and can only think of a few actual sellouts,UCLA in the mid 90's comes to mind.

I think it's just a cultural thing and there was/hasn't been consistent consecutive seasons of above average product on the floor to garner the casual fans attention enough to create the environment that is needed to give LSU a true home court advantage all season long.

These next 2 to 3 seasons could be the foundation for that. One can only hope

I hope he succeeds here but the coaching needs to get better also

You can't just advertise and win

It's time to take the next step

his may come off like I'm being a Debbie Downer, but Id put money on Johnny Jones not having written that.

No dude, you're Debbie Realistic. The LSU Sports Information Department wrote that. Kent Lowe probably penned it himself.

It is truly inspiring how a thank you to the fans could be roundly shite on. tRant never disappoints.

Could not have said it better myself...I opened this thread knowing the immature, loser, negative responses I'd see but like watching a horrible accident, I couldn't look away.

The guy may be a class act and he can recruit, but his record of winning conference bb games has been anything other than stellar.
Even LES seems to be a class act, but the guy has many lapses when it comes to making the right decisions during football games.

CLASS ACT doesn't always equal PREMIERE COACH.

So we lose to bad teams because enough fans aren't in the seats???? Did you ever play??

Yes, I know that a loud arena gives us a home court advantage, but crowd size has virtually nothing to do with our players' performance. They want to play well and win, whether they're in an empty gym or in front of 20,000 people.

And, you do realize we lost to Missouri and Miss State ON THE ROAD!!!

I go to plenty of games. I support LSU basketball, however the common LSU fan doesn't. At one time baseball had no fan support, the fans come when the winning starts.

LSU football wasn't always a packed house in the 90s, it didn't get packed until the team started winning again.

LSU basketball has had a long history lately of climbing real close to getting support only to lose a critical game and fall back down.

While i wasn't fully on board with hiring jones he has done a good job since taking over. It is frustrating that we aren't over the hump but we are building. He does have faults though and in game coaching is one of them. We had a 4 minute drought to end the game against UK and that is what cost us the game. 1 score on any possession in the last 4 mins and we win that game. Next year we will be much better but crowds aren't going to come until we start rolling.

I played. And I have followed LSU and UK for better than 30 yrs. the great LSU teams had stout fan support when Dale was there. I dont ever remember him having to beg fans to come.
You probably dont believe but when the team knows the fanbase is behind them they play better even on the road. Also when u can carry a good record and ranking with you on the road u can scare some opponents off the board in tight games. LSU football has been doing that for a while
