Anybody know what Bear wrote before he got in the batters box? Looked like “TS”…

If I could see my favorite play right about now, I'd be a happy camper.

quote:I want to preface this with I am a Shores fan and think he's on the brink of being elite, but his one knock as a pitcher is his lack of swing and miss with the stuff he has. It's been like this since the fall of '22. College baseball has advanced to the point where just throwing 100 doesn't make you elite anymore.
He may have also been referring to last intrasquad where he got tagged

Damn! Bear really showed some discipline on those last three pitches. They were close - good job laying off of them.

He wrote that Kentucky pitchers last name for motivation

Can Jake Brown hit the first granny of the season? And how did bear lay off balls 2 & 3

Jones getting back to that patience from last year. All close pitches but all clearly balls. Need Brown to tee off here, so they start pitching to Jones.

Gotta say I agree with PP7 on this one. It's been the gripe with Shores. His freshman year he could get guys to 2 strikes and not put them away. I watched him do the same thing in multiple scrimmages in the spring too.
The sample size isn't huge, but it's been a recurring theme.

That wasn't very good.

I wasn't so sure about ball 2, and to a lesser degree ball 3. But Bear got it right.

Feels like Jones understands the assignment and is going to improve on his k % this season

I mean Jay said as much recently. Basically he feels he will improve as the year goes on.
