No identity. With CWW in love with TW and Naz, he is forced to constantly sub when they struggle. Get rid of the three guard look, pick a starting five and adjust as the game dictates.

Smart(sub TW)
Mays(sub Edwards)
Taylor
KBW
Days

Use Reid and EW as game dictates. Key to it all is Smart running the offense.

Only change I would make is start EW over Taylor.

I'd say it's even more simple than that.
It's rebounding. Basketball 101.

Gave up 22 offensive boards to FSU and 18 to Htown.
If that doesn't happen, we win both games.

I agree. Seems like nobodys sure who the go to guy is so theyre all deferring to Reid, but he tries to make too many highlight plays. he's talented but not polished enough to lead the team, shoots too many 3's. Bigby seems to be more effective the times ive seen him. Waters is struggling with his new role. Smart is the best player on the team and the offense needs to go through him.

Also, I know nothing about basketball. Just a casual fan's view.

yep....he gets it.

When shooters go cold, this is the biggest thing to limit the other team's scoring runs. Yet it hasn't clicked with this LSU team yet on this issue. This team looks they are trying to get by on their "lofty" preseason hype alone. They are not aggressive for rebounds.

Lack of rebounding is killing this team.

Youth! The teams that have beaten us were veteran, talented, as well as well coached.

Duke starts 4 freshman. Youth cannot be an excuse in basketball, unfortunately.

the youth excuse doesn't work, at all, in basketball.

Duke has a coach used to starting multiple freshmen, who is forced to integrate new players every single year.

To think Will Wade has had to deal with this before is funny. Let them acclimate

Really our guards have to a do a better job at rebounding. Brooks and their starting pg got 15 rebounds I think. The two bigs can't out rebound 4 players

2 main problems - point guard play and rebounding. Problem solved by removing 3 guard system and giving point guard duties to Smart. Seems simple to me.

Duke starts the top 3 picks in this years NBA draft. You’re the 5th dumbass I’ve seen make this comparison. Our freshman aren’t nearly as talented.

I’m just saying “but they’re young” shouldn’t be a valid response to a lack of effort. Get a rebound. 18 offensive boards should not be tolerated. The team is young because our best players are young.

I know the season isn’t over, just a pretty disappointing start.

BLOCK OUT, BLOCK OUT, BLOCK OUT, BLOCK OUT, BLOCK OUT, BLOCK OUT, BLOCK OUT, BLOCK OUT, BLOCK OUT, BLOCK OUT, BLOCK OUT, BLOCK OUT, BLOCK OUT, BLOCK OUT, BLOCK OUT.

If CWW doesn't do something about this, he officially sucks as a coach.

So is the issue that we’re young, or that we’re not good? You’re saying the problems would go away if we just played our more experienced players, simply because they have experience?

Duke is obviously a severe example, but the point is that good players play well, regardless of age, and well coached players play well. We aren’t playing well, so which is it?

We don’t have time for the young guys to sit around the program for years and develop. They simply aren’t going to be here that long.

My concern with this team is you can defer to other guards and wings and they can give you better production then Waters is giving you right now. But with Reid, I'm not sure how successful this team can be without him playing at a higher level. To me, you keep hammering him and hope a light comes on in his head and he realizes that the brand of basketball he's playing right now isn't going to lead him towards being the best he can be. My hope would be at some point early in conference play he adjusts and becomes what we all thought he would be.

They don't need to "acclimate" to block out and know not to shoot a 3 (Naz).

One of the fundamental flaws on the way this roster is constructed is that we only have 2 legitimate big men. I got crushed this offseason for saying that.

With that being said, yes the effort & technique could be better all around.

Take the cuffs off the young players and coach them hard. Tremont same skill used last year for LSU and useless on this years team. Naz is paying safe like he is a lottery pick, no intensity and passion for the game. Until these issues are handled , the team will struggle versus good teams. Hopefully they figure it out in the SEC. Long season left.
