Said it before, I'll say it again. Some of you are bigger fans of Saban than LSU. Please go cheer for Alabama.

Just quit making post about Saban on the rant. Every couple of days there are still Saban post that somehow appear around here. Make it stop!

And this is why Saban has racked up 3 natty's and miles has 1 with sabans players

with saban's players? i thought all y'all were extinct. really? so ignorant.

Don't ever forget that folks. This little benign comment, kind of made in passing, is very true. When Saban won one at LSU, we needed a computer to get us past USC. When Miles won, a chit ton needed to happen right. Saban needed a media push to get a mulligan. Several teams had Auburn beat when they won.

while we were 2nd in standings to OU, i think most people agreed not winning your conf cg was crap and people wanted LSU-USC NC. it's not like we screwed USC.

Miles tripped LSU into the MNC game in 2012 going 13-0?

Did you review LSU's schedule that season? 3 wins over top 5 teams..

If anything Saban politicked his way into that game.

When Les was hired one of the coaches was still at the facility at around 7:00 pm. Les asked him if he was a family man. When he said yes, Les asked why he was still there. He told him under saban they weren't allowed to leave until the HC did. Les told him to go home and take care of his family. Work could wait till tomorrow.

I know several of the lsu coaches, and this is total crap.

I'm not really sure why I should be excited about a post that seems to suggest that our staff will get outworked by Bama's staff? I don't care if the LSU coach is a genial family man. I'd rather a maniacal a-hole who wins multiple national championships.

The Peterson story is cool.

He still got there and put a team on the field that was prepared to win. That is all that matters.

Also Nick tried to return to LSU after the NFL job. LSU told him no because every assistant coach said if Nick came back, they would leave because they wanted to work for Les.
Well frick.

NO ONE will ever remember that or care except LSU fans. It could be said that Les Miles did the same thing in 2007. "We are undefeated in regulation".

the scenario for LSU to even get in the game played out less than 24 hours before the announcement, and I'm sure the polls were in the hands of the BCS before Les made that comment. Bama, et. al., were making their case for 5 weeks.

My guess is that Saban's contribution to the game plan was a bit more hands on than Miles.

One that would be a poor reason not to bring him back and two I just have a hard time believing that no one could leave until Saban. Far fetched.

I heard a story about Saban and a Mercedes Dealership. Apparently either him or his wife damaged their car or someone else did, not a major accident, just a dent in the door, bumber scrape, etc. The dealer took the car and gave nicky a new one.

I talk regularly with a few members on the staff and Coach Cameron told them that during the season, they need to bring an air mattress to sleep on, sheets, and a change of clothing as well as all bath utensils needed

I must say, watching our rivals, particularly some of you guys and Auburn fans, constantly invent ways to put down Saban is awfully amusing. If you believe there are qualities you want in a coach more important than winning, that is your prerogative, but I don't buy it for one second. It might be debatable if the cost of success was our coach running around making an arse of himself like Kiffen used to do at Tenn, or dumping mistresses off the back of his motorcycle, but Saban is just a hard nosed, no-nonsense coach with a rather dull personality who happens to be the best coach in the country. I could care less if he goes home and sleeps in a coffin as long as he wins and does it the right way, and any suggestion that Saban isn't doing it the right way is just message board dribble. If being a nice guy is the most important quality in a coach for you, then good for you. Me, I'll take the championships.

I recall some of the usual suspects bitching and crying that Saban had Jimbo in handcuffs.

He (Jimbo Fisher) had to figure out how to run a successful offense while the head coach wanted to run up against 11 man fronts with FB Dives on 3rd and 5

2006 - Total O ranked #14, 1300 more passing yards than rushing
==============================
Crowton
2007 - Total O ranked #9, 1300 more passing yards than rushing
2008-2010 RP is lost and Crowton's inability at QB development becomes evident. After a year of freshman Jarrett 'pic 6' Lee, Jordan 'zero pocket presence' Jefferson takes over and Les sets 'parameters' for play calling.
2011 Krag is hired as OC, before season started, revealed he had Parkinson's, OL coach Stud takes over for 2011/2012.

In hindsight perhaps Crowton should have been given 'opportunity for other avenues' a year earlier. Perhaps another OC should have been sought for Krag/Stud...though 2011 was highly successful.

We have a real OC now, there is zero reason to think Miles will not let Cam run it.

My 2cents worth.

So were our championship seasons... Hes got 4 though. Dont call that luck.

Saban is a missed Okie State FG in 2011 and an LSU first down or a UGA incompletion away in 2012 from having only 2. And let's not forget Colt McCoy getting knocked out of the NC game or LSU jumping USC in 2003 because the PAC 12 didn't have a championship game at the time. That's not a little lucky?
