If one player doesn’t test positive because it’s still in an incubation period then turns around and gives it to LSU players it would be a complete disaster. With Florida next week that’s the last thing that we need. Hopefully this doesn’t happen but it’s definitely a possibility.

Most of the team has had it already.

ETA: Interesting that 3 people now have downvoted something that came directly from O.

For real, we are just going to have to deal with it like everyone else.

If players miss a game, shite happens.

Fair point but some players are still vulnerable to catch it. Because of the rules with covid it could cripple the team if it somehow got spread around.

It is what it is.

Life, and our football game with Florida, will go on regardless. And from all reports most of our roster has already had it so unlikely to get it again this quickly.

Can't spread if if almost all have had it already. This is a nonissue.

I don't think many of our guys are even testing anymore because they've had it, recovered, show no more symptoms, and get a 90 day window of no testing.

But, I agree, I'd hate to see catastrophe hit right before Gainesville.

Hey if players are out due to covid it's another excuse we'll use to why we didn't win the game lol

I'm not sure there is a single reported case of spread between players on the field. It spreads in confined spaces, not so much outdoors

There’s been basically zero evidence of on the field transmission between teams. It’s all intra-team through travel and meals, locker rooms, etc.

Considering the games are played outside and guys contact with each other is so short, only a few seconds, with helmets in the way, it’s incredibly unlikely the virus will spread from player to player. Not to mention anyone playing with the disease is going to be asymptomatic, which while still contagious, means they are much less contagious than someone with symptoms.

Tl;dr - there’s pretty much no basis in science or anecdotal evidence to be worried about playing Mizzou bc of Covid

Nobody is concerned bc players might die, people are concerned bc current NCAA protocol may keep some of our players from playing in future games if they somehow contract the virus.

It's not obvious whether you don't understand the argument or you're just pretending not to understand the argument, but it appears you simply wanted to list the survival rate in an attempt to look smart and show everybody Covid is nothing to be concerned about. Maybe you should just sit this one out.

The silver lining to the Mizzou news is that only 1 player actually tested positive and the other 8 are being held out due to contact tracing.

So most likely Mizzou did what they needed to do to contain the spread.

If you've been paying attention, Mizzou and Drinkowitz have been very cautious and transparent through this whole thing so you can also believe the accuracy of what they are telling the media.

Even if it was the flu and not covid, it would be bad for a portion of our team to get it going into Florida week.

The survival rate has nothing to do with whether or not they will play. Stop being a moron.

Who gives a shite about getting a cold? Geez! My friends 85 year old mother is about over it. Just a cough and sniffles. The CFO at my company caught it, and no one is even concerned about it.
