Yes you can, as I just did some figures against Texas A&M, and they pay a total $3.9m more than LSU in total salaries.

Nobody in this thread is negotiating with Ed Orgeron.

What do you think his market value is?

Pay him and the other coaches however many millions needed. Just PLEASE make sure not a single player gets a penny or a free steak dinner.

The players don’t deserve a dime. All of the coaches and NCAA suit and ties deserve all of the money. ALL of it. Dance players dance!

I would offer EdO $5.5 mil a year with incentives similar to what he has now. I would make his buyout $10 mil and reduce it by $2 mil each year of his contract.

You folks that think our athletic budget is a bottomless well best understand massive salary increases are going to be paid by you and I in ticket fees.

O doesn't seem like a money oriented guy, ie greedy.

6M with tons of incentives...

The new SEC TV deal is expected to increase each school’s payout by $20 million per year.

The sad part is, you’re probably still correct...

I wouldn't pay him any more.

I'd be shocked if he has success without Burrow and Brady.

I think we caught lightning in a bottle this year, and expect him to regress to his mean.

I want to see him do it without a premier QB and playcaller, then we'll talk contracts.

You people are purely PATHETIC.

Can Saban win without his 2 Coordinators? Can Clemson win with Brett Venables as DC or even their OC?

Coach O you all thought sucked and would never win. Well, he made all the right moves with his little $4m salary and in 2019, beat the pants off 8 out of the top 10 highest paid coaches and 7 out of the top 10 ranked teams, and the Natty, Coach of the year, Heisman QB, beat Bama, set a million records, etc etc etc. and you spew this shite???

LSU is the 2019 National Champion you dip shite with Coach O the leader

Yea again, O is cool and great for the university. He makes me happy every time I see him speak about the program and the players.

But I still think he had next to nothing to do with this championship. Whatever our team total is in Vegas is right now, you’d bet the under.

He got extremely lucky to have the most innovative offense ever to hit LSU coupled with the fact he had maybe the best NCAA QB of all time in the driver seat.

That’s once in a lifetime type stuff. It’s frickin awesome it worked out this year. But I just don’t see it happening again. That’s not who Coach O is. He’s just a rah rah guy. I wish we could keep him on staff as a recruiter and a team ambassador, but he’s much more “lose at home to Troy” than he is “winning National Titles”

I love that it happened. Happy for O too, he makes me tear up sometimes with his love for the program and the players. But without Joe Burrow and Joe Brady, you’re gonna need a real football coach. To me that’s not Coach O. He got one which is great, he will be immortalized in LSU lore forever, but if we want to be a top the mountain, we need a real coach

Also, Saban has won constantly without his coordinators so that was pretty idiotic and why I suspect your downvotes happened

He does. His new contract will be $1 more than the current highest paid HC annual salary.

If we want to be fair, he deserves to be 3rd on that list. He's doing a phenomenal job.

That is Texas A&M pays their coaches $3.9m more than LSU, therefore give Coach O $3.9m raise or $4m to $8m like I mentioned on top, where he gets $8m, and they make the same as A&M, whom they beat 50-7 this year.

Who gives a damn about what A&M is paying their coaches? It has nothing to do with LSU AD's economics.

A 50% for him seems to be the standard and is more than fair.

Depends on his next hire... I love coach o but he will only go as far as the talent on his staff. I think he’s self aware and realizes this. I think his priority is getting the best staff rather then the money. Coach o would be the head coach for room and board

Seriously GFY. I bet you and Pat Haden would make great butt buddies.

Well he’s beaten 7 of those coaches some on multiple occasions... should be top 3 imo, deserves every penny. Wasn’t it in miles contract that if he won NC he had to be paid penny more than any other coach? Coach o has earned it... not like we have to pay him to protect from other schools but he’s earned it
