What are your thoughts on Laya?
I saw his stats at Oregon and his PG profile. He has a good portal ranking.
What kind of player is he and what kind of production do you think he'll have here?

I'm curious as to how many our top 4 pitched per week on average in 2025
I think Evans was usually hanging around 5. He had one long outing against OU. He needs to improve on this and I expect he will. He needs to pitch to contact a little more and focus on a put away pitch.
Schmidt seemed more like 6 ip/ game and maybe hit 7 once. He only had a game or so where he was pulled before 5.
Moore with limited opportunities seemed to stick around 5, but I think he was going to build on it if not for the injury. He has enough control and command to go deeper.
I don't know much about Hood, but he seemed to have a role like Evans did in 2025, so mostly 2-4 innings at a time.

Armstrong said Minatee is the next Tre Morgan
Why do you have him listed as a pitcher
Not hating just curious and want to know your opinion

I like him a lot. Think Brayden Jobert with a better hit tool & defense.

Dont care just get the catchers off their knees

Perhaps the best defensive catcher in the game. Notice how many times he is NOT on a knee.
Some of you really need to learn that just because it's done differently than it was 50 years ago, and just because you can't understand the reasoning why its done, doesn't mean that it is wrong.

A Jobert with some speed, a decent glove, and better average sounds nice.
Do you know much about Park?
I saw he was around .300 and if he had played the whole season, was on pace for 20 HRs at TX State.

I don't really care how they set up. I just think the position needs to be taught/trained differently if they're going to set up on a knee. The catchers need to anticipate and recognize much more from a pitch location/blocking and stealing standpoint when starting on a knee. They also need to be much more flexible so that they can get out of the setup fluidly to stab a pitch out of the zone, block a pitch in the dirt, and nail runners. Maybe we're doing all of this but maybe not. Our pitchers were so erratic this year that it was really hard to tell.

wow, I didnt know park had that type of pop. this team will be similar to 2023 when it comes to power.. I think we have a couple of ethan frey quality hitters on this team and we were missing that this year. he was so important to the 2025 squad.
Posted on 7/5/26 at 6:47 pm to jrobic4
Serna is the best hitter on the team. He will hit 2nd or 3rd

Jay mentioned a few years back that he wanted a team with several guys pushing for 12-15 HRs. I think this team has that.
Bide should finish around 25.
Serna should be 18+ with potential to hang with Bide.
Laya and Kerland (if healthy) will probably be next with 15+ HRs. Kerland was on pace for that the last 2 seasons before the injuries and had 17 and 14 the previous years.
I think Watters/ Milam/ Park/ Braun should hang around 12+ but wouldn't be surprised to see any of them climb higher.
Wachs should be able to put up some power numbers as well, especially after seeing the bomb off Fontenot. I think he'll be somewhere around 10 but could go higher.
Depending on how many ABs Pearson gets, he could also push for double digit HRs and is likely a 15+ guy if he is a primary starter.

i agree with everything you said honestly
i could see this team hitting 150 bombs for sure if thats the case

The best part is that these are just good overall hitters. I love gorilla baseball but you can see that in Omaha, it pays to have a lineup with line drive hitters that are tough outs and keep pressure on the pitchers.
This is a bold statement, but I think this lineup will look a lot like 2025's but with more power.
My only question is what kind of speed we'll have between some of the newcomers, like Park, Wachs, Kerland, Laya, and Watters. We know Davis and Patrick can fly.

i agree that we got some great overall hitters but i see this lineup more like 2023 then 2025
but you are right, it plays in omaha to be able to hit overall
although last year several teams raked in omaha

Arrambide and Serna will catch most of the innings again this year.

IDK where or when, but I think Ruckert will be a starter and not due to injury.
