Comments about hanging it up like Saban. Man I hope not. Nobody will be able to bring the excitement to this program that she has.

“You grind and you grind and you grind and I’m no spring chicken. How much do you keep going or do you do like Saban did and say I’ve had enough?”

She said this after saying what they’ve done at LSU in such short time has created a monster that you have to keep feeding. Aka the high expectations of our fans forgetting where this program just was before she took over.

Climbing to the top of the mountain is more fun than staying there.

It’s the reason we got her from Baylor

The comment was in reference to the support from the community:
She said little did she know how quick the monster would be created
How hard it is to keep feeding it
She isn’t a spring chicken and the grind associated with feeding the monster
Do you keep grinding or hang it up like Saban…

Meh I think she was just rambling. I doubt she hangs it up soon.

When she wins at least 5 NC at LSU maybe.

Good points. Once you hit the pinnacle, it becomes the expectation.

My recommendation: surround yourself with realists and stay off of social media.

I'd like to think she's just setting realistic expectations about how hard it is to stay on top, so losses like tonight shouldn't discourage players and fans from the big picture of what has been built so quickly.

Obviously just speculating, but it was a tough loss to the #1 team in an electric atmosphere, so I believe she was just speaking off the cuff, as she tends to do.

I may be reading into it too much but the way she said that makes me nervous that she’s truly thinking about hanging it up soon. She’s only 61 compared to Saban who is 72 though so hopefully she decides to stick around a good while longer.

I think NIL will drive out a lot of older big name coaches in the coming years. They don’t want to have to deal with all that bs. It was probably exhausting for her this year

Nah if you saw the look on her face she wasn’t. She wins the National Championship again this year, she might retire IMO

I mean I hope not.

But she is 61, a multi millionaire, in multiple halls of fame, and a ring for every finger. What exactly you think she has left to prove if the job turns tedious?

Well hopefully she hangs it up when she is the same age as him, that’s 11 years from now.

I dont think she retires after this year, but i also dont think she’ll be coaching in 5 years. I think she came here as her last job and to win a championship, and the championship came quicker than expected. So it wouldnt surprise me if she only has 1-2 mlre seasons left

She got a stent put in recently and has grand children she wants to spend time with. It’s not unreasonable to hang it up. She has nothing more to prove.

What makes the loss even harder is you were leading for 90% of the game then it went to hell when Reese fouled out

Everyone should be very proud of this team. Well be where we need to be come March

Seems like she passed the recruiting to Redus, and it didn’t go as planned. I’m sure that’s really frustrating and probably doesn’t help her long term outlook on coaching in her 60’s.

She did have a pretty significant health scare over the summer
That would make me consider my future and whether or not I needed added stress in my life
