Now there's a name that fits Woody's hiring preference. Sucks that he's in his first year at Jacksonville, and highly unlikely to leave at the moment.

After a 15 loss season, his health will become and issue once again.

Because of Woody’s prior relationships with them, I think the 1st 2 calls have to be Saban and Peterson. Obviously, I don’t think Saban would come, but would he listen to something like 5 years $100 million with a rolling 1 year $20 million after every season so his contract is always the same. No buyout. Is there ANYTHING he would even listen to? Probably not, but gotta try. I’d offer Peterson something insane too that’d make it really hard to say no to.

Bob Stoops
Matt Campbell
Lincoln Riley
Joe Brady
Fickell

Gotta gauge the interest in these big fish before firing O. As great of a job as everybody seems to think the LSU gig is, that’s not how it ever seems to play out in real life. Saban chose us, not the other way around. Our last 6 head coaches:

Orgeron
Miles
Saban
Dinardo
Hallman
Archer

I have Peterson and Urban in the “make them tell you no” category.

After they tell you no, I think you put feelers out on Campbell, Cristobal, and Fickell. If any of them want to come, I think the job is theirs.

If you can’t get one of them, I think your next call is to Napier and Fleck. I don’t think you would have to get further down the list than that.

Other than O, none of these guys would have recruited Burrow, Chase, Jefferson, Marshall, Clyde, Patrick Queen, Delpit, Stingley and the rest at the same time and gotten them all to come

I think you have a VERY inflated view of Os ability to recruit. Most if those guys wouldve been here anyway.

He is about on par with what Les was doing before he left. He can be replaced.

I know it's cliche, but LSU really does recruit itself if you put together good season.

Feels weird to say, but that sounds pretty reasonable actually

To the OP…you have way too much time on your hands.
Will they be available next year? Won’t need one till then.

Huh? They are not technically available now. That never stopped anybody.

And if by "next year" you mean early December, then I agree.

What did chris petersen actually ever accomplish at washington?

Doesn't he have a sick kid and that's why he retired in the first place.

Don't get me wrong, petersen is a very solid coach but ...

I mean he took Washington to the CFP. Washington. Washington has been to the CFP as many times as LSU.

Yet even though everyone knows Sark is an alcoholic, Kiffin is a gigalo, and Hugh Freeze gave up god to lure recruits with hookers.

They are all head coaches again.

Gimme ART!!!!

In a few years Aranda may be looking for a job. That would be fun to see since we’re throwing out semantics..

We told them to pick one of these guys before and they didn't listen. I doubt they will this time.
