Based on previous situations that are similar to this one, what punishments do you think LSU could receive? It sucks that we had to have this happen right when Will Wade was beginning to embark on a mission to develop a competitive product. Oh yeah, and Johnny Jones should no longer be welcome around these parts.

Overall winning % will take a slight hit.

Emphasis on "slight".

Vacate wins and maybe a scholarship. I doubt we see postseason bans or any draconian sanctions.

Just guessing here, but I'm going to say the punishment will be nothing.

That will not stop people from totally melting, and using it to further their hatred for people who they already didn't like. You know, the usual for the rant.

with as many teams and players implicated, I don't imagine any significant punishments arise out of this, if any. But god forbid we are forced to vacated all 10 of our wins last season

Does having to read more threads about this count toward punishment served?

We don't really want you fired. But you owe that kid a 'make-up' grade. Give his next average work a B+ and we forgive you.

As for LSU. I don't know how this will affect individual schools. There's so many and this is really focused on the Federal Investigation of the agents under that Sports Agent Responsibility And Trust Act from 2004.

Oh no, he is here. In the "Skip is better AD than Alleva" thread, which I total agree with BTW.

They’ll vacate all 7 of the wins

Probably vacate wins from 2015. Maybe a couple years of probation. Can’t see it being anything worse.

Just curious. How is this different than Alabama football players buying cars and not having to repay the money for 4 or more years?

Vacate wins, sure, there probably aren’t many to vacate anyway. But unless they can prove LSU was aware of it, or influenced it any way, I don’t see why there should be anything more than that; and certainly not losing any scholarships.

Now that is all based on one player at $15k. If more from LSU come out and for higher amounts, then you may see some scholarships, if not for any reason other than the school should have known.

How is LSU the institution tied to this? The agents are the ones that paid them not LSU. So unless assistant coaches were facilitating payments to players from agents, I do not see how LSU will be deemed culpable.

We just have to hope assistant coaches weren’t conduits for the agents
