As outlined by others above, this Hurricane MAY indeed affect the game. The storm, once hits land, will linger perhaps through Tuesday. The flooding will be significant such that Houston could be impacted with all the rain and flooding. As you know, flooding effects could be felt for days and alter traffic, emergency services etc. There could also be no availability of hotels. But, I would have thought that individuals going to the game may have already made reservations.
So, I hope all goes OK, but we've seen enough disruptions in the past that it is NOT out of the question that this storm could significant effect playing of the game.

Not to worry.
We've got Brownie and Blanco both on it.

If storm hits at a category 3 as predicted there wont be a game in Houston.

Even with a full week after the rain?

Hadn't thought of this for whatever reason, but seems like a simple solution since it will be a holiday. Maybe wait to see what happens this weekend, but is a good solution if needed.

It wont be a full week. More like 4 day maybe.

It won't be a full week. It's going to drench south Texas for 3-4 days before moving on.

Rain will hang around til mid week. That's not the problem. You will have so many displaced people in the area and not near enough resources to handle a football game. They will never ask 70k people to come to a town that is going thru that. My thinking is as of the 11 o'clock update they've have begun with the contingency plan for this game.

It's going to be raining in Houston until at least Monday and depending on the movement of the storm, possibly longer.

I personally wouldnt even be mad about that. Pretty scenery. I can say that since I am not going to the game.

Could very well be. If Houston is in a state of emergency they likely won't want that extra traffic in the area. This thing is projected to stall out right over Texas. It's going to drop lots of rain. Houston is venerable to these types of storms. If I were LSU I would be coming up with a contingency plan just in case. Can't cancel this game!
