Currently sitting at #16. Probably need to be in top 11 at end of season at least.

It would obviously help us if USC, Ole Miss, & Bama are still up there too. I guess we will get a better idea of how good USC is this weekend when they play at Michigan.

Does it matter which game we drop? Ole Miss, Bama, A&M, OU?

Realistically, I think there are a few other teams in SEC with easier schedules so I’d expect two other 7-1 teams to make the SEC CG.

It doesn’t matter. We’re not going 10-2.

We’re going 12-1.

0% chance of an SEC team missing the playoffs at 10-2

Look at the teams LSU would have to beat to be 10-2. We would absolutely be in the top 10 at that point.

Probably a moot point though, because this team hasn't played anywhere near good enough to go 10-2 up to this point.

Really? I’d predict there will be a few 10-2 teams left out of the playoffs. Probably some teams sitting around #14-15

True, but that could all change on 10/12

very very low.

At 10-2 we're probably 9-12 seed and going on the road for a playoff game somewhere.

If we go 10-2 we are absolutely in.

10-2. 2-1=1. You mean to tell me you believe we only have 1 loss left? Either you’re a time traveler (would be easier to believe) or you haven’t watched any games yet.

10-2 SEC teams? That's doubtful. Maybe 10-2 ACC or Big 12 teams.

This.

Think of the teams we would've beaten to get to 10-2. We'd absolutely be in. Probably sit around 8th in the country.

Here’s my worst case scenario, looking at just the SEC.
We lose to Bama?

11-1 Texas in SEC CG
11-1 UGA in SEC CG
Tenn 10-2
Ole Miss 10-2 loss to LSU/UGA
Bama 10-2 loss to UGA/Tenn

LSU is probably right there with Ole Miss & maybe our loss to USC is what helps if they are 11-1

Realistically, there’s going to be one team each from the ACC and Big 12 with the AQ’s then the 3 other AQ with SEC, BIG10 and G5 team.

If ND loses another game to an unranked opponent, they’re basically done for. That leaves 7 spots likely split between just the SEC and BIG10.

If the season shakes out a certain way, you could see 5 SEC teams in, depending on what happens in other conferences

People won’t like this, but….

It might be better for our playoff hopes to finish 10-2 but not make the SECG.

Remember it’s 12 playoff teams NOT the top 12 ranked teams.

5 auto bids for the conference champs and the top ranked non P5 team gets in. So depending on the rankings, a couple of teams out of the top 12 could get auto bids.

10-2 will have us ranked 9-10 and a real strong shot to be one of the 12 playoff teams.

But losing in the SECCG will drop us a couple of spots and might make us the first team left out.

A 10-2 SEC team is 100% getting into playoffs.

Y’all aren’t counting on the other 10-2 teams around the country. My scenario would put LSU as the 4th or 5th best SEC team

You’ve got 4 other conference champs. At least two or three from Big10 (Ohio St, Oregon, USC, Penn St?)
We would be on the bubble with Ole Miss/Bama

We would have 1 SEC loss. We could very well be in the SEC title game.

A few 10-2 SEC teams will be left out? How many 10-2 SEC teams do you think there will be? A 10-2 SEC team will never be left out no matter what their schedule is.
