We could have played a cupcake game (like other teams did) and won by 50 but we would not have recognized problems that need to be corrected (and hopefully can be corrected) before the more important SEC schedule. I think this team thought they could just show up and win and got brought down to earth. That’s about all I can come up with.

I'm not saying to play a "cupcake" but ditch playing top 20 teams to open the damn season. Find a middle of the road Pac12 or ACC to handle up on. Or have a first week cupcake followed by a bigger name. Look at opening record since 2019. Pathetic.
