Their QBs sucked.

He didn’t play us.
He was firmly committed to us based on what we were offering and what everyone else was offering.
Then….. Dave Portnoy and Larry Ellison’s wife happened. Within 48 hours, the two of them pooled $6 million together and the Michigan offer went up to $12 million over 3 years instead of $6 million over 3 years.
Nobody in their right mind would turn that type of money away, especially for a school 30 minutes from their house.
Some of you are pretty petty and ridiculous in thinking you wouldn’t do the exact same thing. He never played is for one second. But… when that type of life altering cash is thrown in at the last minute, things change fast.

Everyone knows what it means when you give a kid like that $12 million. It means he’s starting next season whether he’s ready or not. Smart on those guys for hitting the portal so they can find a team that will actually give them a chance.

I imagine they thought it was going to happen. When Burrow came to LSU, the QBs with the most experience transferred out. Did not hurt LSU. His backup was a freshman in Myles.
Michigan apparently will get a transfer QB from Maryland. Even if the other QBs did not transfer, I imagine Bryce would have gotten the starting job anyway. Maybe not week 1 but certainly by week 3.
