He had good enough grades to get into Kansas. LSU guessed he wasn't going to make his grades and they guessed wrong. Complete unforced error by LSU.

Yea the one who couldn't get yardage against Bama with the best back in the nation. Top 4? With his talent he should of had a better career until predictable Miles ran him straight into the defense.

How many times will Kansas play an Alabama caliber defense in the next 3 years?

LSU didn't have the scholarship to risk on a guy who might not make the grades.

It wasn't that they didn't want him. It wasn't that they "missed". He was a risk the staff couldn't afford to take.

He proved our coaches wrong. Good for him. But it's not like they made the wrong choice.

Why can't you be happy for someone without bashing our coach at the same time

So you are saying an undersized RB at LSU would of made a difference this year with the offense we ran? He shined in a conference that is known for no defense. SEC is a different animal.

Alabama and Georgia are a different animal.

The rest of the SEC this year has been very very average.

No excuse for Coach O to lose him to Kansas. He was the best player in Louisiana last year.

Well, it would have helped if Pooka knew how to spell “Pooka” on the entrance exam.

Wow, the two things that stand out are that his footwork is phenomenal and he must have the best acceleration in the country. He was going from stopped to full speed immediately in those highlights. He will have a stellar career.

We messed up. Started to push for him way too late. Grades, size, etc. doesn’t matter. An elite athlete an hour from campus is inexcusable to not be in touch with and land.

He visited LSU and was given an offer per the paysites but it wasn’t committable because of his grade risk. Obviously that was a mistake and most of this board thought we should take him in the class, including myself. However to be fair to LSU, Kansas was the only team that took a chance with him.

Not true. His offer was committable, but he wanted to stick with Kansas.

He would have been worth an offer, grades or not, just to use on the return game.

A miss. No way around it.

So are you saying LSU was not in touch with Pooka before signing day? Is that what you’re saying here?

These kids with grade issues usually manage to get in somewhere else. It's not like LSU is an Ivy League bastion. If he can stay eligible at Kansas he could have stayed eligible at LSU.

No one thought Pooka would qualify which is why he ended up at the worst P5 school in the country and not anywhere else in the SEC.
Isn’t the same thing that happened with Eddie Lacey?
