I don't approve of any wasted tax dollars. I'm not sure why you're implying I'd support Benson doing that

if the arena is going to be paid for with mostly private funds, then I'm perfectly fine with that

Call me nostalgic, but I like the PMAC and I think the ramps are part of its character.

Agree about the ramps being part of the character. IMO the entrance ramps are the LAST thing they need to be concerned about with the PMAC.

Somehow they need to make it to where you cannot access seating from the bottom. Right now, any slap dick in the arena can walk down around the lower perimeter of the court. They need to take that away, and Have everyone come in from the middle level and go down or up, and turn the common area around the bottom into seating closer to the court.

“We knocked down the dorms of the south end zone in Tiger Stadium. It creates an enormous amount of space down there,” Alleva told the crowd Monday night. “We’ll be able to create a food court and sell things down there. For lack of a better word, it will be kind of a sports bar situation. Big screen TVs. It will be a restricted area where you have to stay in there. You won’t be able to leave.”

I'm not entirely sure I understand the concept.

City renovated the Cajundome.

Private money will renovate PMAC.

Big difference. LSU not sucking off taxpayer titty.

while true, if LSU were to ever get a new facility it would have to be some sort of co-op venture with the city to also replace the River Center.

I think a new arena in downtown BR with LSU basketball as an anchor tenant would actually be a net plus for both the city and the LSU basketball program.

Sounds good in theory and it's not that far away logistically. But I think it would be a terrible move to move the team off campus!

It'd be nice to actually have legroom in the PMAC.

I like the use of the word "modernized" in Joe's quote. I agree with this sentiment.

Taking the loop to the new PMAC will be sweet.

I can't imagine escalators instead of ramps looking better.

Is there anything at all that LSU would want to "Be Like" at Southwest Louisiana Junior College at Lafayette?

I'd take a few of the women's softball coaches from SWLAJC@L; maybe Robichaux in baseball, but nothing else even remotely...............

Disagree 100%.

LSU basketball isn't moving "Off-Campus." That's one of the most ridiculous ideas I've heard on here.

No it doesn't....seats 8,000 and has suites and will be on campus. This is pretty big deal for McNeese. I've seen all the architects drawings and it will be nice, new, and state of the art facility.

But notice in the pics of the gyms posted that the suites are up top (where they should be). As I said earlier, LSU would be absolutely insane to try to cram suites into their second level leaving regular seats on top of them. It would absolutely kill the crowd inside the PMAC.

Also, both baseball and softball will be getting their own weight rooms at their respective facilities.

And it will have better suites than the Cajun Dome.

I think it will only seat 4,000 but unless the program get a lot better than will be plenty. Only thing about that is it would probably be too small for graduation.
