I’m aware of that. Doesn’t mean LSU can’t cut someone in to share construction costs. I’m against this, but know it’s being discussed.

Then you must also be aware that the corner of Bertman and River rd is paid RV parking for football season, That's a lot of annual money for them to lose and it would mean the new arena would have to make up it's own cost plus the cost of events, PLUS the lost revenue from that parking lot

Build a new arena where the old Alec Box was located with an indoor parking facility around or on the side.

There's a small shopping center and new apartments there now. Have you been on campus in the past few years?

I kind of like this. Make the old PMAC location into a champions square kind of thing where lsu can host game day and what not

That's my favorite idea... You get to keep using the practice facility and it'd make that whole space pretty sweet

I would tear down and start over. you can do a lot more when you start fresh, that land could be used for something else...

It would benefit the entire athletic department not just basketball this way, let's see if they are smart enough for this.

I posted this a few months ago. A friend of mine overheard Alleva and boosters talking about this very issue over a lunch. They discussed that remodel was not the path to go and building new was absolutely going to happen. He mentioned it was going to be two fold benefit to keep Wade happy and LSU in top tier recruiting class. That indicates it may be in next 2-3 yrs.
They went as far as discussing where it would be built on property LSU/State owns between Nicholson and River Road.
The existing PMAC would be demolished.

meh....for location, leave it where it is. Remodel.

In no particular order I would:

1) Take out the 3rd tier and convert it into suites. (this takes most of the rich old guys from the front rows and moves them into the suites.. )

2) Open up the Concourse areas on the 2nd level for more open viewing, standing room only type.

3) Have the rolling bleachers go all the way to the court, removing that wasted walking space.

Really wouldn't be that hard of a remodel.

Honest to god, if they could just remove the god awful wood doors and make an unobstructed entrance into the seating area of the PMAC that alone would be a sizable upgrade aesthetically.

Yeah, that sounds cheap, shitty, and no taste. Good thing you're not in charge.

All buildings run their course and the PMAC is no different. We live in a society that likes new things, even though I don't necessarily support that thinking! A new building can offer better seating, better concessions, better locker rooms and more things to attract big-time recruits. Alabama isn't building these new buildings - one which includes a barbershop - for nothing. It's unfortunately what college sports has become and what the recruits want also!

Build a new one. Too expensive to remodel, might as well get a new building out of it.

Same person I heard it from for sure, except I was told a specific location.

No. I have better things to do. Do you have anything better to do than scan message boards looking for something to try and be a douche about?
