blaming this on "mental health" is misplaced. There's no indication that he suffered from depression, anxiety, bipolar, etc.
No indication he had mental problems? Are we talking about the same person? The same guy that would catch a 5 yard pass and celebrate like he just won the superbowl. The same guy who made a jester like he was shooting someone with a shotgun? Then he’s still making similar jesters on the sideline weeks later like he’s some kind of cool gangster. It’s was so blatantly obvious he was a head case. Call it bipolar, call it depression, call it whatever personality disorder you want. He was mentally unstable.

Also the fact that people pay for you to jazz up a pair of shoes is the definition of a bad decision

Illegal lane changes, speeding, running red lights, tailgating... Half of you assholes do this on a daily basis. Anyone who commutes in Baton Rouge knows this. If anything, it is jackass adults teaching kids poor driving habits, instead of respecting that they are behind the wheel of a 2-ton weapon.
I bet u felt smart after typing that soft minded bullshite. What a fricking joke. Typical deflection of blame.

I don't know. I think the term "mentally unstable" is used WAY too often these days in too broad of a scope. IMO, what you describe is more immaturity than "mental instability". That immaturity probably led to some poor decisions which then compounded.
To me, a big side issue is just how flippantly suicide seems to be seen as a logical option to rough patches in life. Immature people making immature decisions leading to very permanent consequences. It's a sad deal when any 24 year old person decides taking their own life is the "best" result for their life.

College sports is no longer about personal development. More money, more wins, more tv, more individuals. It’s all about me, me, me. Kyren needed his arse straightened out. But he never received that kind of leadership. The way Brian Kelly handled Lacy was an absolute joke. Just a very sad situation.
This is some high level douchebagery.
Lumping other people in to assign blame in an already tragic situation is pretty peak douche.

I don’t care what adjectives you use to describe his personality. Gun signs, excessive uncontrolled celebrations, aggressive behavior, yelling at your coach on the sideline. And now reckless driving, gun shots around his family, more reckless driving and finally suicide. At what point are we able to call him unstable?
A lot of these athletes have rough upbringings. Idk if that’s the case with Lacy or he just had a wannabe gangster attitude. But if you call that stuff out you’re either a racist or an old boomer. These kids come to school and instead of learning humility, honor, discipline, and hard work; they get money, fame, and coaches catering to their every wish.
Here’s a video of BK downplaying Lacy’s behavior: LINK
I mean let’s be honest here. When the hit and run news broke, was anyone actually that surprised? Why is that? Because everyone knew Kyren was a headcase. And we only had the smallest glimpse of his behavior. I’m not going to sit here and pretend to be ignorant. Too much smoke

I’m not blaming anyone for Kyren’s decisions. Ultimately Kyren is responsible for Kyren. But I know there’s more to this situation than just a series of unfortunate events.
These athletes come to a school and are placed on pedestal. The pedestal is higher than it’s ever been and it has a mound full of cash underneath. Coaches are too scared to coach. It’s all a giant recipe for disaster in alot of cases. Kyren’s case being an extreme example.

Not true.
Just because we as Joe Blow fans didn’t know about it doesn’t mean his family, friends and others close to him didn’t see it - and live with it.

Don’t crawfish on this. You’re the one who attacked the people around Kyren for failing to lead him. You’re the one who brought up Brian Kelly. You're the one who correlated celebrations with criminal behavior. Idk what you’re trying to do here, get a pat on the back or something?
Honestly, you’re being an arsehole.

I didn’t “attack” anyone. You’re the one throwing out names and insults. Go back and digest what I actually said. I’m not interested in a pissing contest over this topic. I don’t think anyone involved is evil or horrible. Just a bad system mixed with bad choices

His mom is Kandace Ward, she is a counselor at Kingwood high school, which is where my youngest son goes to school

How is this on kelly in anyway?
Lacy’s hit and run was in December after the season was already over. He was going pro and skipping the bowl. No longer Kelly’s responsibility.
Man yall reach so hard to blame everything on BK. Conveniently forget all of the stability he’s brought to the program

Hmm.... Not sure his celebration style was the best indication of mental illness.
If that were the case, Deion Sanders would've been committed around 1987.

Of all BK’s faults, player behavior isn’t one of them. Much better than last couple of regimes.
