This ain't the way it happened in the old SEC . These players natural talents have been developed to the point that they are going to be rich men at 21 years of age and there is no loyalty to the system and organization and the fans that made it possible for them ? WEAK!I guarentee you JL wouldnt be sittin and posing for the mirror . WEAK !

Nobody is skipping the final game this year, everyone that is not on the depth chart is due to injury.

It should be mandatory! I agree, typical Millenials and their weak mindsets.

You are correct, 20 or 30 years ago if you were a player that had battled injuries all year and knew you could go in the bowl game it probably wouldn't matter as much as it does now in terms of draft stock. All of our guys are making the best decisions for the rest of their lives.

How did we as fans make it "possible" for Key to be potentially a Top 10 pick? The difference between the #5 pick in the draft and the #10 is $9,000,000 in guranteed money. He would be stupid to play in the bowl game if is battling injury.

Fournette wanted to play in the bowl, but made a mans decision to listen to his coaches, family, and NFL personnel/agents. Key wants to play in the bowl game, if you have ever talked to him he loves the game.

Corey Thompson a 6th year senior who has battled through multiple very bad injuries and stuck with the program and never gave up, would in his last game suddenly call it quits

A bunch of adult men crying because a kid doesn’t want to play in what is a meaningless bowl game . If they have a career ending injury are you going to pay them a few million bucks as insurance?

old
exactly right

It is a business, and the kids are assets

The kids know this, and they are not going to risk their value over (for them) a meaningless game.

This is the new way. Get with it or get out of the way.

Or in the case of a player like Key, a minor injury that affects his combine and physical testing, each spot in the first round will cost him millions.

Not playing does not keep you from being injured. You still have to work out, lift weights, etc. Also players are injured in non contact drills.

You are correct anything could happen in life, not playing doesnt mean you couldnt get into a car accident, twist your ankle getting out of bed, or being attacked by a swarm of zombies.

But when you work out, the chances of the cushion dummy falling into the back of your legs and tearing your ACL are not as high as say going up against the best offensive line in college football and a running back falling into you. These guys have lifted weights for almost a decade now at a high level, and will be with highly paid trainers, so yeah he could get hurt riding a bicycle.

Funny how these kids want to play in the NFL and really aren’t making it a priority to excel and be loyal to a university, yet the fans are loyal and show up to cheer them on. Seems disingenuous and a glaring double standard to me.

As a fan, I would like to see all players that are not injured play. However, since this is not a playoff game, I’m fine seeing live game reps of players competing to start next season.

It has nothing to do with a players "loyalty" to the university, if you dont think Arden Key wont represent LSU and be as proud as every other current former Tiger then I do not know what to tell you. Arden Key knowing the type of guy he is will recruit for LSU until he is dead.

Yes we do, but Im just of the opinion, I do not think these guys that have already given a lot, owe me anything when it comes to making the best decision for him and his family.

You last game as a Tiger is always memorable especially a Top 20 matchup with one of the most storied programs and a trip to Disney World very few get that honor to experience that. They still have the next 50-60 years of there lives and in the case of Arden he is a father and supports 2 households and every extra dollar he makes drastically changes the life of his entire family.

These kids are getting a free education in exchange for playing football. If not injured, play the game or quit the team. If worried about injuries affecting NFL money , take out an insurance policy. I agree with the statement that these milineals are soft.
