I said MOST of what you're hearing on Condon is not true. Reading comprefrickinghension.

You wanted to be a "badass" and call me out.

Congrats!

Players giving up on Mainieri

It really looked like players gave up last night, didn't it? They didn't battle all night. Yep, they gave up.

Lots of dumbfricks in this world.

It's a shame that dumbfricks like you can't see the difference between a team struggling to perform, especially on the mound, and a team that has folded its tent and gone home.

Bertman berated players all the time and he was pretty ruthless. In the end though it worked most of the time.

Yeah. They had one of Skip's old players from one (or more) of his NC teams on Hultburg yesterday. He said Skip would get in their face and really cut them down - things like he can't believe he wasted schollys on them, they don't deserve to be there, etc etc. They even had a name for it - they called it his Wrestlemnia speeches.

Maybe times have changed and players are more sensitive now. But I doubt it. Just sounds like somebody looking for ratings.

Although State is 5-23 in Conference, they've been in the majority of the games. It's not like they've gotten arse-reamed all year long. They just don't have the pitching to close games out. Sound familiar?

These players want to win more than all of us guys so I don't buy into they're quitting on anyone. Even if they don't like a head coach, or his treatment of them they want to win and have been in the majority of their close games during this slump.
In many cases just one more pitcher (like all those that left, and didn't come but entered the Pros) would have made a difference. The errors this year, are what bothers me, and that is mental.

Agreed. Mahtook took a hard hit trying to catch a ball in the first inning.

And I would think if it was so bad, why in the hell would Dean come back this year after being drafted last? Moreover, these guys would hurt their potential draft stock because they don't like a coach? I'm not buying it.

"Say what you want about Condon, but the ratings for his shows are higher than for other local talk shows. That, people, is the bottom line."

4 pages of folks arguing about Condon...good grief.

Look, if anyone can still say after that dog fight last night that our kids don't want to win with every bone in their body..... you can't help them. Ignorance at that level is self imposed and can only be self corrected. God could never make something that f'ing stupid.

Condon is the Rush Limbaugh of local sports - will say anything to stir controversy. Controversy=ratings=$$

Accuracy/truth is secondary

The only reason Dean came back was to show that he has the ability to be a position player and not just a hitter.

i highly doubt you've looked at an arbitron book .. but condon has barely shown up in the last three books ... in fact, jimmy ott's numbers were actually higher when he had that slot ...
